Grammy-nominated stars are giving a bit of themselves for the MusiCares Foundation. India.Arie is offering her Gibson guitar. Mary J. Blige is giving up one of her warm-up suits. And matchbox twenty is auctioning off the gold record plaque for its single "Bent."
It's all part of the MusiCares auction on eBay, through www.grammy.com which runs until Feb. 27. Memorabilia from Bono, Elvis, Eminem, Sting - and even from artists with two names, such as Britney Spears, Elton John, Alan Jackson and Reba McEntire - is up for grabs.
Proceeds go to the MusiCares Foundation, which provides funds for health care for musicians.
Another Grammy-themed celebrity auction, the annual Kristen Ann Carr Fund winter semiformal, takes place Feb. 22 at Bridgewaters in Manhattan.
The baseball Bruce Springsteen used in the "Glory Days" video, an autographed Billy Joel box set and an autographed guitar from John Mayer will all be on the auction block.
Tickets are $150 through www.sarcoma.com with proceeds going to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
