I don't think there's any doubt that U2 could have sold out a couple of stadiums in the UK next year or at least sold more than enough seats to make a decent profit. It's more likely that they just couldn't find suitable dates in the schedule. It must be a logistical nightmare trying to fit in...

True but not if they didn't have kids! Most people who saw the ZOO TV shows (myself included), were probably teens & 20s so they didn't then have school age kids. Those fans who've stayed with U2 from early on are now in their 30s and 40s hence more likely to have a family.

Don't forget also that the UK dates this year were bang in the middle of the school summer holidays which wasn't the case with the Vertigo tour. They probably lost at least 10% of their audience as a result. I know loads of people with school age kids who had already booked their summer hols by...

Olympic Studios sadly closed earlier this year- U2 were one of the last groups to record there. I vaguely remember though that there was something in the press at the time that U2 were considering buying the studios as they liked it so much there :hmm::hmm:
