What "now" artist would you like to see U2 collaborate with?

Y'know, I'd love some Postal Service remixes/remakes/collabs with U2. That'd be pretty cool. Or some Bono and Jenny Lewis (of Rilo Kiley) duets would also be sweet. But hell, I'd *love* a U2/Kanye anything... personally I'd really like to see him produce, but I'm up for anything. Kanye...

    U2 driving songs

Both Streets and COBL have this build for me, and I start by going like, 60, and all of a sudden I'm belting out OH YOU LOOK SO BEAUTIFUUUUL TONIGHT and I'm going 95. Whoops. Beautiful Day is also pretty great for driving, and I really like listening to Red Light at night while in the car. I...

Hidden Track on ZOOROPA vs. "A Man and a Woman"

Oh man, why did I come late to this party of sheer awesomeness? Count me in for the hidden track o' goodness. I also wanted to quote half the thread, but I'll refrain and just give everyone here a big

And the award for worst u2 cover goes to.....

I love the Cash version of One, but then again, he is a master of covering songs... just look at Hurt and Personal Jesus. The Clay version of Streets... :| :| :|

POLL - 'One' at the Grammys

Just a big fat honkin' word. The Johnny Cash version is amazing (although, to be fair, he was a wiz at covers, just look at Hurt and Personal Jesus) and keeps the essense of the song. MJB just belts... I feel like we would have the exact same results if Mariah Carey did the duet, hell, even...

MERGED--> Grammys thoughts thread+One performance discussion +monkey jumped off !!!

In the free CNN video, Bono tries to explain that comment a bit, and he explains he was talking about pop music, that the beatles were the "big bang" of pop music and the whole genre. Also, Larry speaks, and claims he's very hurt by being cut-off, and then Bono says he was going to read a poem...

MERGED--> Grammys thoughts thread+One performance discussion +monkey jumped off !!!

By the way, since I was staring at it all night, does anyone know if there's anyway to get a Music Rising shirt similar to Edge's? I know we had patterns for Bono's Africa shirt, but I was wondering if there was something similar for Edge's... I haven't been able to find a decent head-on...

The most underrated U2 song is....

Red Light is pretty underrated. Or, um, outright loathed. Heh. But I can't resist the trumpet

    Non-Single Survivor: Grand Final

RTSS. ZOO STATION ALL THE WAY! *crosses fingers* (And it should have been Zooropa!)

What would you engrave on your iPod?

Is it wrong that I would engrave mine with Vorsprung Durch Technik! if I could? Because I so so would.

    Larry sings on Numb?

Yeah, the version on the best of 1990-2000 is best for hearing him. He sounds very much like Larry. Hard to miss

Non-Single Survivor: Final - Round Four

This is really starting to get fishy. Promenade was losing by a landslide when I left for class, and now it's only 1 vote ahead of Like a Song? Where are these votes coming from?
  14. H

Non-Single Survivor: Final - Round One

Heh, I knew this bit would get a lot more scattered with the voting... Promenade. Just doesn't do it for me so much.

Non-Single Survivor: How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb - Round Four

Miracle Drug. "Freedom has a scent..." :yuck:

    Another New Video for OOTS?

Blah. That's all. Although Edge's little poses did crack me up. But overall, that was pretty much crap. The original version is one step above crap, but this one is crap. FOR ME! The multiple heads thing made my head swim a bit, too.

Non-Single Survivor: How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb - Round One

Votes " A Man and a Woman" with GLEE. Sheer and utter gleeeee. Oh, I've been waiting for that.

    Any New Englanders?

Split my time between home in MA and university in DC. Born in Salem, MA, raised in Gloucester, now in Canton. Although I don't know how long I'll be in MA after school ends, AH! Graduation scares me :help:

One of their best! Almost as good as anything from Achtung!

Fast Cars    I nearly cried when they played it at one of the concerts I went to. Oh man, that song is amazing live (despite Bono's small inability to remember the words in their correct order). But I do think I was the only one in my general area who knew the words...

If you were asked to pick one song as the musical equivalent of sex...

This is the best thread ever. Also, DYFL = the sex. End of story. I definitey had a U2 sex mix until 3 days ago when my laptop died, and it somehow didn't make it onto my iPod. But yeah, DYFL, Velvet Dress, Your Blue Room, Even Better, etc etc. And I have definitely done unmentionable acts...

Non-Single Survivor: All That You Can't Leave Behind - Round One

I voted for When I Look at the World. Just kinda blah, and gets lost along with Peace on Earth. I'd be fairly surprised if Kite doesn't win, though I am rooting for In a Little While (but that's a long shot and a half).

    At least one....

Yes! Another Red Light fan! *rejoices*

    At least one....

I also like Tryin to Throw... But I do think, after reading this, fans of Red Light are few and far between. That's ok, just more for me. I like the horns! Dammit! Also, I can't do this. I mean, I can, but my clinginess to Red Light has made me reluctant. It's never songs I don't like...

Your First U2 Song Of 2006...

First song of 2006 was accidentally Sufjan Steven's "They Are Night Zombies!!!" but I quickly corrected it and started up the 12/31/89 show, then followed it with the studio New Year's Day.

'Bananaphone' vs How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb

This is, by far, the best poll yet. God, I'm so torn. I mean, look at Bono's lyrics! Ahhahhhhahhh Eh eh Ohh ohh ohh ohhh ohhhhh Ohh ohh ohh ohhh ohhhhh That is genius, right there. BOMB!
