    Amps

The VR's are nice & cheap. And light-weight too which is nice. Great tone. You could get an AC15 vr used for close to that.

    e-bow + U2

Marty Wilson-Piper of The Church used one quite a bit. Incidently, you can hear some ebow in Love Comes Tumbling as well.

    experimental track

That sounds cool man, like a cross between U2 and Jane's Addiction. Incidently, the link is broken - there's a space between "you" and "sendit".

Has Bono been taking singing lessons?

He revealed recently in Rolling Stone that he had a major heath scare a few years back - throat cancer was suspected but eventually dismissed. He admits his singing suffered for quite a while especially thru the Pop period. Likely he's had voice lessons in order to revam[p his voice and to learn...

    Numb Fretting Thumb. . .?

I notice this when playing songs that require (for me anyway) to place my thumb at the back of the neck, rather than the top "edge". Streets is a song where I do this, and I notice a considerable discomfort after playing it from the tension I place on it. Is it related to a certain song/songs...

    Elevation opening guitar

It's a "rocker fuzz" pedal named the RAB Fuzz. Custom made by tech Rab McAllister. Basically a rehoused Kay Fuzztone, I believe.

how do you record your own songs?

I think Miricale_Drug's suggestion using the "line out" from your amp to your PC's soundcard is the best, especially if you only have a budget mic, considering cost , and tape vs. mp3 etc. You can burn a CD of your recordings after they're on your hard drive. It's more "permanent", clearer...

(03-31-2004) "Joshua Tree" To Be Recreated Live in Toronto - Modern Classics Live*

Hey thanks, man! Much appreciate the support - God knows there are more sceptics than supporters. Actually, I was brought in at the last minute to try to fill some the holes. You might actually be able some day to see the show on TV - last month CBC had a 1/2 hour special on the series Venture -...

(03-31-2004) "Joshua Tree" To Be Recreated Live in Toronto - Modern Classics Live*

Dude, I am one of the performers in the set and my one duty during "Mothers..." is the electronic drum beat. I managed to match the sound perfectly by experimenting with running a Boss electronic Percussion device thru my guitar fx - sounds really chilling when you hear it - no kidding. As for...
