A year late with that maneuver, Wemby will be a Spur in a few hours.
3 years late, actually
In all honesty - what the former GM did was ridiculously bad. Brad should have been dealt when John Wall tore his Achilles.

When that didn't happen, you had another opportunity when Russell Westbrook wanted to leave.

And finally you had a last chance to do something the year before he hit free agency.

To miss all three opportunities, then give him not only a crazy contract, but include a no trade clause? Boggles the mind.

The new regime is currently cleaning up the old regime's mess. They're doing it with an eye on the future CBA - clearing as much cap space as possible as quickly as possible so that they can take on every other team's junk for a couple of years... with draft picks attached.

Paul, Jones, Muscala, Gallo... all are "nice pieces" that make sense for a contending team but not necessarily a rebuilding one. We've got 4 points guards on the team currently. At least two of them will be jettisoned off for draft capital.

It's a full on tear down and rebuild. It should have happened 3 / 2 / 1 year ago. But at least it's finally happening.

The old regime wanted to run it back.

Kuz, Brad and KP are all flawed talents. They work better as pieces than they do as leaders.

KP is a good offensive player. He can block shots. He doesn't rebound, can't really get low block position, and is a total mismatch in switches.

That said - the best lineup we ran this year with KP featured Daniel Gafford starting beside him. Rob Williams does what gaff does, but better. So it fits.

We all know how frustrating Marcus Smart can be, yet still I’m gonna miss him. Just weird.

Yeah. Never could question effort or desire to win with the guy. Definitely could question his sense of self and shot selection at times.
His being the longest tenured Celtic probably stood in the way of Tatum & Brown taking over the team fully, especially in the locker room, which they should have done 2 years ago. Smart fancied himself as the team leader, but in the NBA the team leader has to be a superstar not a role player if you want to succeed.

Kind of hoping the Cavs make a run at Kuzma, but he's probably going to want more than the mid-level. Would be nice to have a true wing on the team.

As the Celtics have just acquired the Dubs' 2024 first round pick, here's hoping the curse of Chris Paul sends them to the lottery and they get the #5 pick.

Washington and Phoenix have finalized the Bradley Beal trade, landing the Wizards six second-round draft picks and four first-round pick swaps, sources tell ESPN. Suns are sending seconds in 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2030. Pick swaps in 2024, 2026, 2028 and 2030.

Beal, Isaiah Todd and Jordan Goodwin to the Suns for Chris Paul and Landry Shamet. Suns are sending cash too, per sources.

ESPN Sources: The Washington Wizards are finalizing a deal to send Chris Paul to the Golden State Warriors for a package that includes Jordan Poole and future draft assets.

well slap my ass we got a lot back after all.

essentially Beal for Jordan Poole, 6 second rounders, a 2030 first when Steph is playing golf, and 4 pick swaps for when KD and Beal's knees explode.

That feels like a Danny Ainge type trade for the zards.

I’ll be happy tonight as long as the Jazz draft a future All-NBA player at #9 and future All-stars at #16 and #28.

and patrick baldwin jr. and ryan rollins to boot!

and we took swings at two high upside (with high risk) prospects.

what is this new, logical basketball decision making that's occurring in the district? it is foreign to me.

i was surprised, too

fred van vleet literally bled on the court for a raptors championship and we'll always love him for that.

that said, 43 million for fred van vleet is ABSURD. thank god masai isn't dumb enough to match that.

undrafted to getting a bag like that is a hell of a story. i hope he lights it up and keeps living his dream in houston but holy shit that contract is nuts. that's more than kyrie is making [emoji23][emoji23]

No charges will be filed following a brief investigation into the*altercation*this week involving pop star Britney Spears,*San Antonio Spurs*rookie*Victor Wembanyama*and a member of the player's security team, Las Vegas police said Friday.

Police reviewed surveillance footage of the incident, with the report noting that Spears' hand hit herself in the face when a security guard pushed it away.

Oops, I did it again

Idk that’s a bit silly to say “she hit herself.”

No, that’s not worthy of charges. But she didn’t “hit herself.” She was hit with her hand forced into her own face because of careless disregard.

She probably shouldn’t have approached like that. But also you can just say sorry, it wasn’t intentional, but please do not approach like that.
