OH, so this is the singalongyness that people are complaining about? No, he didn't do this at the LA show we saw.

And I don't know if I care for it :uhoh:. BUT I'M NOT THERE.

I mean I have enjoyed singalongs when they've done them, when they did a singalong ISHFWILF in Brisbane last tour it was pretty special. So if you were there and around a ton of people also singing it might be pretty damn lovely.

But on this evidence, this is absolute trash. They're not even playing the song properly. It's all neutered. As LM says, One is such a powerful, emotional song and they're turning it into a soft and wispy dirge. And Invisible snippet <<<<<<<<<< Do you hear us coming. How can you finish with this? Go into 40 and save it, geez.

But I'm not there.

Pretty much this. I have three thoughts on the subject:

1. Marriage as an institution has existed for over 4,350 years. Marriage has been identified with religion for just under 1,000 years. Religion has no jurisdiction over marriage.

2. Secular, civil marriages have existed in Western societies for a long time. My secular marriage should be considered way worse to religious nuts than a Christian gay couple who want to get married.

3. Freedom is only freedom when the exercising of that freedom does not prevent another from exercising theirs. In other words, dissenters have no right to an opinion, because they are impacting on an issue that has ZERO impact on their lives, it is just spitefully negatively impacting others. So fuck you (not you liam).

4. (I added a 4th) - love is love, so fuck you all (dissenters that is).

Glad you can be so mature Dan....

I missed Liams post, and couldn't figure out what Ax was referring to...thanks for referencing it....

NOT trying to prevent anyone's freedom....I am all about anyone doing whatever they want (legally speaking that is)...but what happened was that 9 people (9 FEDERAL judges) decided that the rest of the country had to do what they say it has to do....do you not see how dangerous that is????

Gay marriage was legal in 36 states before Friday, and I'm SURE the other 14 would have followed suit. THIS IS A STATES ISSUE! The Federal government becoming involved in a issue that should be decided on a state level is EXTREMELY dangerous....

It's over. Until tomorrow!

Why is it extremely dangerous?

Feel the band have really settled into this tour now. That was amazing. For those who don't like the one singalong. I am sure that sounds amazing when you are in the crowd. I love it. Can't wait for MSG 3 and 4!!!!!

Why should an issue that affects things such as federal taxes, right to medical care and insurance, employee benefits, etc. etc. be limited to the state level?

It's unfair and discriminatory to allow for couples to file taxes as a couple in some states, but not in others. It's discriminatory on a socioeconomic level to state that a LGBT couple cannot leave each other property (a federal right, I will remind you) on their death because they live in a state that does not allow it. It's discriminatory to force couples who purchase properties together to pay federal gift taxes, because they live in a state where getting married is illegal.

You may choose to view this as a state issue, and you would be myopic to do so. The benefits of marriage in the US are bestowed at a federal level. Marriage is a federal issue, not a state issue.
