Love the Bono pic spam! I like him in boxing mode-I'll be the Adrienne (sp?) to his Rocky.

(You know I've never seen a single one of the 'Rocky' films?)

I found you

:D:hug:

Sigh. I really wish this was how it looked outside where I live. Have I mentioned yet that mild, dry winters SUCK?

Off in a few hours to spend the night at a friend's house-her birthday's tomorrow. We're gonna play some games and another friend's bringing a karaoke machine. Should be good times. So if this thread closes before I get back, have a lovely afternoon/evening, everyone !

OMG this game is SO stressful!!!!! :crack: My hands are shaking like crazy, but that's probably also to do with the fact that I've had nothing to eat and just have had coffee. About 30 seconds left. EEEEK!!!! :panic:

I like them in black, but black doesn't become see-through when wet :cough*Minneapolis*cough: I'm hoping to make the show at the Canal Room on the 20th :) Almost Queen is opening for them again!

ah! I understand then !

really the 20th??

:panic: i've already spent most of my extra $ for the month!
I suppose I could not buy some important brass wire for jewelry
until next month.... :sigh:

Well, keep me posted here -if you are definitely going!!!
Us Plebans who go to see them usually often meet up at the Japanese Restaurant walking south and to your left at the corner for the same block as The Canal Room.
If nothing else I can meet up with you at the restaurant and have a quick meal! I've done sometimes to say hi to my PB friends & the band for the times I couldn't afford to go.

:giggle: not from my POV!
it is very hard to get out of my neighborhood if there's
a bad storm. :(

Oh I'm sure there's gonna be snow: I'd be worried about climate change if we got no snow for winter- but so far I'm glad it hasn't happened yet, except for that :yikes: Oct/Mid-Fall storm !

Yes. I'm with Grace. I have nothing personally against Chaz. It just makes searches hard.

I wonder if you put in Bono + U2 ...
then he should be first in google listings...

:hmm:

I'll try right now...

ETA/ FYI

yes... putting in "bono u2" (no need for the + sign) will bring up bono right away, then if you have something more specific....

EXAMPLE just done: bono u2 busking 2011

So all that came up right away...
so should be no more interference from Chaz if you follow this method of searching :D

Now we're taking sides about discrimination? Really?

I'm sorry, but despite saying she has a trans friend, she referred to needing brain bleach after reading about Chaz. That seemed like it wasn't only about the search difficulties, and uncalled for.

uh, yeah... agreeing with you VP....

in fact i didn't even see the part about having a trans friend

That's totally fine with me. From what I know of you, I honestly can't imagine you have anything against trans people, and I do believe that it was a flippant remark. I think you're smarter and far more open-minded and empathetic for it to have been anything else. And thank you.
agree

And sorry for getting all riled up over this. I just remember when it was okay to say stuff like that about the gay community...most of us have evolved since then and know that it's wrong and unacceptable. Trans seems the be the only community that this is still okay for, and it gets my dander up when I see it.

Eta - Actually I'm not sorry. If people don't say anything, it'll keep happening. Maybe it's better to say I'm glad we had this discussion.

I second this

I grew up when all this was way more difficult .... and anti-gay (let alone trans) feelings was "in the air" so to speak, plus being raised Catholic with all it's attendant anti-gay, etc atmosphere didn't help. But I was never a raging homophobe, more the occasional "eewww" factor - we are talking 40 years ago ! Now it's a mild discomfort on infrequent occasions- and that's my problem I keep working on.
I remember The Stone Wall Riots which happened in the West Village while I was in ?first/ 2nd yr year of Art College at the edge :)drool: ) of the East Village.

I think of how much trouble I could get into if I lived near Cori, Amy, EdgeFest, Gg....it might be good that several timezones keep us separate. Especially in Cori's case. We can only meet in places of natural anomalies. I think she was in Boston for her layover to Ireland and it was delayed. The force was too much for mortal jets.

lucky Kristen & amy!
