You can actually tell it's not Bono from the first word of the opening line.
If he had started out that low, it would be much deeper and raspier.
And then from there, he would need a time machine for that tonal clarity.

listened to it a few times. IMO i dont' think its bono, he is similar to B in the way he sings a few things but not him.
 
First I thought it was Bono, just because ppl stated that on their FB, but while listening, I could absolutely not recognise Bono in this.
Sounds more like Chris Martin to me...
 
Just home from work and I couldn't wait to give another listen to the new INXS song featuring

Because i've been too disapointed by some fans over the years on differents forums... Most of them are ignorant for me. People i thought very interesting don't post anymore or are gone, off u2 forums... People i've met who were closed to the band and entourage never go on forum because there is a lot of bullshits around... I am rude proportionally to this bullshit, it hurts me to read some posts... So I think it's a waste of time to answer, try to convince, this masses of ignorant so, i'm letting go...
Like Jesus on the cross "forgive them Father, they don't know..."
 
I think Jesus also said that you had to be nice to your fellow men. And we're all actually discussing whether or not this is Bono. You don't see me posting that you're an idiot for believing that this is Bono singing. Because I respect others. Yet you're doing practically doing that to me and many others here who doubt that this is Bono. Because we don't hear it as being him, and another website confirmed it's another singer. That you still think it's him, fine by me. But that's just your opinion, not a fact. So we're not idiots for not sharing your opinion.

This "website" is a fact for you? it tells the truth? What's your ears telling you? have you listened to Rae ? What do you think of his voice compared to someone on Tiny Summer?
 
Nothing here is a fact to me. But if I see other websites claim it's a different singer, and I hear myself that this is NOT Bono, I tend to believe those websites might be right. I have listened to the link posted, and that voice does sound like what I'm hearing.

I too thought this was Bono the first few seconds, but as soon as it started to sound like Chris Martin I doubted very fast. Do you really think that if this was Bono there would be so many people here doubting? We ALL love U2, we all know most of their songs by heart, we all know what his voice sounds like. And most of us here seem to think this is not Bono. So what makes you think it is him then? How do you explain the Chris Martin esque voice, the lack of his trademark rasp? How did he suddenly get such a smooth voice, similar to his in the late 80s?
 
i don't want to talk about bullshits like Chris martin or 80's voice!
Bono is known to be a great imitator, he can sing perfectly like baryton Jim Morrison for example, he can sing in many ways, i know people that shared the same restaurant with him in Monaco and they told that Bono was making the show by singing on mic, imitating other singers etc... We can't imagine what Bono can do with his voice, we just know cd's and live concert... I recognise him on this track at 100 per cent sure.

I'm sure the controversy will be resolved in due time, but I agree with Galeongirl - no need to have such an angry tone nesquick just because some choose to disagree and don't hear exactly what you're hearing. Some of it sounds a lot like Bono to me, some of it doesn't. That being said, here's another Rea (notice the spelling nesquick, it's not Rae) Garvey song strictly for comparison:

his technic and accent aren't similar at all and the SSSSS at the end of some words are not pronounced as Bono do all the time... His trademark if i can say...
