Oh hai :giggle:Cold enough for ya?? I had to scrape my car windows this morning and turn on the furnace last night :crack:

YUCK. :crack: That's no fun. It's supposed to rain here today. :sigh: I knew it was coming eventually, but had hoped it would be a few more weeks. Oh well, it was wonderful while it lasted!

Well, Baltimore is not happening for us. Mr. R is a little bummed to have to let the opportunity pass. I'm a bit thankful that I don't have to leave Boston. Maybe in a few years, I'll feel differently about that. I just know that I could not change the gut wrenching feeling I had about moving my life to Baltimore for what could be forever.

Glad you were able to make the decision!

I know, having them so close like a club. That was how Elevation felt. Like, holy shit, are we allowed to be this close to them??

THIS. My first GA experience (Seattle) was insane, because they were RIGHT THERE in front of me (I was on the outer rail), which was so surreal. And being in the pit for Montreal 1 as well.

I was trying to figure out where this guy was. Looks like in front of Adam. I was either right around him or in front of him.

Remember the guy talking about bracelets. We pushed through. Then we saw Vic nearly be taken down buy Red Zone because he got confused. Hey, I was 2nd row 2 people off center from Bono. I was told to look for the vent because that was center stage.

ETA: I think we did move up in numbers somehow after the initial first 150 or so were let in. I just walked fast to that second holding pen. Can you imagine if it had been dry weather? The mad dash? Would have made Montreal 1 look like a kid's race.

Amy, I don't even wanna think about if the rain had not been there. That would have been the scariest GA run ever!! That trek they made us walk holding hands 5 across was FAR. I can't imagine how much of a nightmare it would have been running that.

I got squished so bad between the barriers where the pit entrance is. People were pushing so bad and they were supposed to walk us through that, I think, but people just started running as soon as others broke off the line for outer rail. Once we were behind the pit, I followed Val and Adge, but I wasn't running because it was so slippery. I saw a guy fall in front of me and land really hard on the back of his head. I didn't care about rail at this point. Luckily, Val and Adge grabbed front rail in front of Edge and I was directly behind them so it worked out. :D

The problem was that they let about 15 people and a guard started screaming about wristbands thinking we were red zone. People started breaking away and running in on Edge's side and those people were 300 or so in line. So, the first 10 in line were held up with me, shouting at the guard. Finally people started pushing. And this is where training to run on ice helped - because I could sort of run in the wet metal. I was happy where I was. It was exactly what I wanted.

Yeah we were told nobody was allowed to go in on Edge's side and that only those that were going for outer rail were allowed to break off from the line. But I guess a bunch of others did and went in Edge's side. I was in the 40's in numbers and didn't get front rail, I think, because of that reason. Ah well, I don't wanna sound like a whiner because I'm so grateful I got to be at the last show

Like any GA that doesn't involved lottery, it comes down to those final moments. Even with our number over 125, some people want outer rail, some want inside rail. Some want back rail. There's enough space for everyone. I wanted 2nd or 3rd row so I could see.

Glad you got the spot you wanted too

As much as I love front rail, I love back rail more I think. I just love seeing the whole show with the screen, the bridges, and the closeups of the band on the catwalk

Next tour, I want to try outer rail. I've never done that. I always liked feeling like I was part of the show. The people in the seats are watching us and the band, you know? Any time I've had seats I have thought, I want to be THERE.

I did seats once and I'm never doing them again. I'd rather be on the floor at the back then in seats.

Everytime I thought about doing outer rail, I couldn't bring myself to actually try it because I felt like I'd be missing out on the pit experience. Maybe I'll try it next tour too :hmm:

What was your fav position??

I'm afraid to start packing. :shifty:

:therethere:

My favorite position.
Why under Bono of course.

Yeah, no more seats for me. Unless I get too old. But they are 10 years older so if they can do it, so can I!

The fact you haven't packed yet Cori, has made me break into a rash.

I'm kind of surprised, too. I would have thought I'd have been packed a week ago.

I have all my clothes I'd like to take spread out on the bed now. Now to see how many of them I'll actually be able to bring.

*rolls up sleeves*

Outer rail was great, but I was a bit farther over than I would have liked. But considering I didn't even line up and got in so quickly due to a quirk of the entry at Qwest Field, I can't complain.

Back rail of the pit on the side ended up being an amazing spot.

Outer rail was amazing for me too (I was a few people further to the right than cori was for Seattle), but I'd prefer to be closer to the centre or on Adam's side, since that side got a whole lot more love from the band than we did.

Oh, shoes. The bane of my existence.

I bought some good walking shoes. But they look dorky with my jeans. I don't want to look dorky in Dublin. So yes, because I am lame and vain, I am bringing an extra pair of black shoes (still comfy) solely to wear with my skinny black jeans.

Unless I can't fit them all into my suitcase and/or carry-on, in which case, bring on the :panic:

I am tentatively going to say that ..... I think this is going okay. Rolling the clothes is a miracle packing technique. I'm taking two changes of clothes in my carry-on, and an extra pair of shoes.

Now I need your opinion: for long-ass flights where you want to be comfortable, is it acceptable these days to wander around the airport in the yoga pants you'll be wearing on the flights? Should I change into actual pants when I'm at the airport for 4 hours?

Yep. I did that. Sweatpants, actually, but it was fabulous either way.

Ugh, it's pouring outside and I have to transport drawings :panic:

Thanks. :)

I'll have yoga pants (these will also be my pajama bottoms for the trip), a long-sleeved tee, a hoodie, and then comfy socks and slippers for the flights, and a scarf and my travel blanket in case I get cold.

Ooh, almost forgot to pack my cute hat!

if you forget hats, there are awesome hats in Ireland. I got my awesome hat there. Also, they have pretty lovely sweaters in Ireland too.
