What classes are you following at the moment? :)

I'm good, bit tired and cranky all day but it seems to have worn off.

Ha, it's kinda funny when you see stuff you made come back to the surface. An old gif of mine was posted and while I didn't remember it I sorta recognized it. I really made so many of those back in the day... :nostalgia:

That's good. Hopefully you don't get enough to be stuck in the neighbourhood again.

I hope so too. I live out in the toolies on a small road. One side is a large Christmas tree farm and the other side is houses, so the snow plows never clear our road. SO unbelievably frustrating. There's a major road about 3 blocks away which always manages to get cleared, but they don't bother cleaning the back roads. That's why I was stuck for a few days that winter - my car is small, and can't handle driving through big piles of snow. Everyone else around here has big pickups and SUV's, so they have no problems getting in and out. One of my co-workers lives nearby, and she's offered to come pick me up whenever I need it if I can't get my car out of the driveway. Nice to have her as a backup, if necessary. :)

Warm? You stole our heat then! :grumpy:
:D I just heard I'm going ice skating tomorrow. That should be fun.

How is everyone doing?

hey GG!
whoops, sorry ! but you are probably getting it back really soon I suspect!
wow, ice skating :) fun! haven't done it in years.. every year I think of going to the open-air ice rink in town, which is opened just for the season, but then magically spring arrives and it closes again...
i miss those times when road was so heavily icy that you just needed to step outside from your own house, put the skates on and ice skate on the street!
maybe just for the reminder i should take out my ice skates, put them on my sight and then I will remember to go skating..

I don't even have skates anymore. Last time we had proper ice on the rivers was when I was 10! Don't fit in my old ones anymore. Though last year we suddenly had some, and I borrowed a pair. Will be borrowing tomorrow as well. It's not really worth buying a pair when there's hardly ever any ice to use them on.

Sounds like fun, skating on your street to get through! :D

:shifty: Zu is gonna appreciate this pic. See? They're undies, not jeans.

I have mostly all my electives this semester, except for one political science class.

I have: History of Britain, Key Concepts in Ethnology, Criminal Law, World Religions, and Ancient/Medieval Political Thought.

Next semester I have all my 3rd year political science classes except for one class.

Glad you're in a better mood now  This place seems to make things all better.

They should really plow your road too. Clearly there are people living there that need to get down the street.

At least you have that co-worker to give you a ride if worst came to worst.

I like the snow but ever since my brother moved out it's been hard to deal with it. I'm the one that has to do all the shovelling because my mom has really bad arthritis in her neck and tendonitis in her arm. She can't do any of that heavy lifting. Sometimes if we get a huge dumping of snow my neighbour will come over and snow blow the driveway :D

actually i'm not sure either if mine will fit me anymore.. years ago when i tried them on just for fun, they were ok! now i have no idea!
but yeah, the thick ice on streets and rivers/lakes used to be about 10 years ago, even longer :(

you speak part of my language

sorry for your moms arthritis :( yeah, shovelling sucks when the snow is heavy! i would always prefer that snow should stay where it falls and should be leaved untouched (it's just so beautiful!), but somehow politicians have decided to make it a law to shovel your snow by like 6 o'clock in the morning
but I sometimes just love to see how people shovel, it can be really amuzing! my neighbourman once totally swore some pretty heavy words under his own nose once... and he rarely shovels anyway (his parents do the whole job )

I would love to just leave the snow too. If only there was some way of getting my car down the driveway without shovelling it outta the way :hmm:

Holy crap  :combust:
This is so much clearer than the other one I saw. I just died a little bit.

and she appears

Oooh! The other scan of this was so damn blurry, I had no idea it was U2 when it was first posted. I thought it was just a group of random half nekkid dudes.

They definitely should, but I doubt it will ever happen while I'm still living there. The back roads are never going to be a priority, sadly. There's probably no money to have the plows working extra time to get to every single road in the area. I'm definitely glad to have a backup plan, now. :)

You should get a snowblower! That would be fun! Or Mr. Plow!! :giggle:

Hi... ZU, Thora, K, GG, Etarian!!
:hug:sss all around. :D

I'm nervous AND hopeful we can pull off keeping The House of Representives (& The Senate) away from the Tea Party & right-wing Repulbicans ( I heard some thngs that made me somewhat more hopeful over the last week).

I'm going to try and find a GOTV (Get Out The Vote) effort for later in our evening to work the Western States. And part of my GOTV was a long piece I wrote up in FYM waaaay in the middle of the night ( early moring )

I should look up the Nartional Weather report to see how the weather in the rest of the country.
It's a ***Beautiful Day*** here ( actually!) in NYC! :hyper::love: Cool (it's Nov) and big beautiful Blue Skies and sunny!

We;re one of thelast states to switch over to voting machimnes. personally I LIKED the pull th lever booths you with curtains you could close!

There you would be: just you, your thoughts, heart and spirit and the potentional peoole who would help to shape our country and the world.

I got a mail in ballot but didn't mail it in so I'm going to drop it off later today. *fingers crossed that the bad guys don't win* I was cracking up last night looking at the signs from the Rally to Restore Sanity - it would have been fun to be there.

Those signs were hilarious! DG or someone else (I forget who) posted a link to some of the signs, and it was funny to look over them.

I'm so glad all this election stuff is going to be over soon. Hoping the bad guys don't win either. I've been getting all these annoying pieces of mail and emails from the Overseas voting people (side note - I love how they consider me an overseas voter! :lmao: ) for months and months. Hopefully they'll stop badgering me soon!

And do they know there isn't a "sea" between Canada and Washington? :D Maybe Sarah Palin is drafting the letters you're getting :giggle:

I know! I live a 10 minute drive away from the border. I don't even have to drive over a creek or anything to get there!

Ugh - I wouldn't be surprised! :lmao:

oh wow!!!! did not know that!

I got to vote in the last presidential election, which was my first time voting as a US citizen - I hadn't realize that I was eligible to vote before that. So that was a lot of dorky fun to take part in history that way. :D

I still have my button for that honor! :D

ooh Thora, what a great historical moment to be a part of for your first time!
Cute Shakespearian actor on campus today working with the Freshman English classes, which is EXACTLY what I would love to do in my next life. Going to go eat lunch with him and talk nerd talk.

So if I'm understanding you correctly - the voting age used to be different, and you were 18 the year they changed it? That's cool! :)

I wish I had gotten a sticker for the last elections or something fun, but I just mailed in my ballot. They should send you something fun for doing that! :giggle:
