Some people think meeting friends online is the craziest thing ever. I have a few people at my work who have asked how me and Amy met (cuz we chat when she comes in) and I told them about this site. They thought it was weird.

People just don't understand eh? I'm still surprised how understanding my parents are, after having two Aussies in our house while they were on holidays and me being away for a month on a small U2 trip with strangers I've never met, and this year going out with random people as well, they weren't even surprised anymore! My mom was like: So are you going to see U2 this year again with people from that forum? Oh, ok, that's cool.

She's the one I'd met online myself, a few years before. Found out we lived in the same city, met up, hit it off, and we've been bffs for well over 10 years now.

Now they sort of understand that there's a bunch of people on here that I actually consider real friends, and just accept it rather than question it. I don't get people who bitch about it, if you don't like it then don't do it. Just respect it that there are people who are able to become friends through the internet! Without any U2 fans near me here I'd ahve gone pretty much insane without a place to talk about them.
