I don't know. Do pine trees grow on the west coast? :lol: I know nothing about tree varieties, but there are definitely loads of them here!

yeah, def they do.

but I forgot to say-- when i say pine trees I tend to lumps all coniferous trees ( trees with needles or scales) in the term "pine" trees.

SO i guess I should have said Coniferous trees! :lol:

Cool! Hooray for someone with more knowledge about it than me. :D

The only tree I know for absolute certain that grows on the island is Alder, because they grow like freaking weeds, and always have to be cutting those back. :lol: But of course there are many more varieties than that. :) That's the only one I can remember for sure.

You should see when I'm out somewhere, and I see someone with a puppy. I'm all "PUPPY!!!" :love: :love: :love: and then I keep the person there talking about the puppy, while I sneak in some strange puppy petting time. It's sad. :lol:

:giggle::hug:

OMG just before i got here I saw the cutest.... there was a guy walking down the street with a whether leather and/or canvas etc around his neck and there was a ?6 week old puppy n there. Golden-beige color; maybe a spaniel type or Lab type. Def not a chihuahua. :cute::heart::cute:

I love trees!:heart:

Interesting I didn't know that .
I know many of the major groups of Deciduous trees; they drop their leaves in the fall, and usually are broad-leaved.
I know most of the major Conifers as well; they almost all do not drop their leaves all at once in the fall.
But sneaky, sneaky a few are broad-leaved: Magnolia trees, but not the Magnolia shrub <at least up here in the nyc area>. :nerd: :D

AHHHH, I would have grabbed it and run the other way! :love:

One time I was coming out of a store and my mom was waiting in the car. I saw someone with a black lab puppy :heart: and stopped to pet it, and then talked to the owner to stall him so I could pet it some more. I took so long that my mom thought I knew the person. :reject: :lol:

I understand!:cute::heart:

Hey Zooey! I HATE birds in the morning. So, so much. Reminds me of this:

:lol::lol:

Here it's a big truck, maybe a very heavy van going over a bump/big crack i the street, or a car playing very loud music that on occasion wakes me up or most often (but not too often) pulls me out of the sliding down into sleeping state.

I'm in the back of the apt building: but it's the street about a block away but below me as part of the slope and hill on the other side of our long block that has no other buildings in front of my bedroom windows to deflect/dull down the noise.

Just checked the hotel Kristen is staying at now. It said it was already sold out for the dates next year!:huh:

ETA: and now it is available again!:|

Well girls, I am off to Winnipeg for the weekend! I am going to see my other favourite band!:hyper:

Bon Jovi better look out~:wink:

Talk to ya again Sunday night! Have a great weekend!:hug:

Hello from Montreal. Yesterday was pretty eventful. I missed me connecting flight from toronto to montral because my thunder bay one was late getting in. Had to take the next flight out so Liz was waiting for me for almost another two hours. Then val got lost downtown in her car and me and liz tried to find her for an hour. We finally did in a parking lot next to the Bell Center.

Sounds like quite the adventure! Hope everything goes well from now on :D

I'll leave a :wave: and a :hug: for SG... Mercy sounds adorable!

Zooey - continued crossed fingers and stuff from me for your application. :fingerscrossed: They should be tripping over themselves to take you on. :yes:

I have to find two character witnesses for the UK citizenship thing... :uhoh:
I's a good girl. Honest! :angel:

I'm tired... and suddenly my To Do list got massive. I need to do my tax return, check my payslips online from the last 6 months cos I haven't looked at them and have been happily ignoring baffling fluctuations in my pay (although maybe I should do that before the tax return...), get my car its 100,000km service, try to get the UK consulate on the phone to make sure I have all the rights bits of paper for my citizenship application, then send the thing off (with $900, ow), figure out where I'm going to live because our share house is breaking up in about a month (one housemate very pregnant and going to move in with fiance, other two housemates engaged to one another and will be moving in with relatives so they can save money for wedding, no hard feelings), then move there, and somewhere along the line, catch up with a pile of old emails, move offices at work, and worry about my father's worsening dementia and my brother's sudden uncommunicativeness. And stay relatively sane, but who wants to do that. :happy:

:crack:

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled party.

And Amy - have an awesome time at Bon Jovi! I knew a girl at school who was MASSIVE fan, back in the '90s.

"The '90s" doesn't feel like it should have been as long ago as it was. If that makes any sense.

PS: 1984 is a very depressing book.

:crack: Sorry you had so much stress, but glad you finally all got there and found each other. :hug:

Wow, that's a lot on your plate! :hug:

I didn't know about your dad. :( If you'd like to vent or exchange parental dementia notes or whatever, I'm just a PM away. :hug:

I'd like to second the statement about Zooey's application. :up: I'm so distracted these days, that I seem to forget to reply to half the stuff on here that I intend to. :reject: So, good luck Zooey, they'd be crazy not to accept you. :)

I know!! When I think about things in the 90s, it seems like they only happened two weeks ago. A sign of age, I guess.
