That's funny, Laura. I came in here to say I had a dream last night that a 2nd show was announced last night at midnight and I had decided not to go. I don't know if I would have that kind of will power, even though I think 4 shows per leg is plenty.

I am not giving up hope yet.
There's still plenty of time to announce a second show between now and June 16th 2010.

But yeah, with Anaheim getting a second show and that being announced the same day the general sale sold out, it isn't easy to remain hopeful.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Maybe they will wait till Anaheim 2 and Seattle are sold out?

oh.... I just realized that I said "of course" to GIVING UP hope.... no. I still HAVE hope. My source told me there was a second date; so the only thing that would change that is if the first show did not sell out.... which it did.

Told my parents we were coming out for a concert June 16th. They were not surprised and didn't even ask who it was. I think that says something about me, that the ppl who know me well aren't surprised to know I'm flying places and don't even ask who it is I'm flying to see.

Oh, and Romi, I asked my mom if she could host a small gathering of "20 or so of my closest online friends" and she laughed nervously - wasn't sure I was kidding.

Ooh, gathering!!! :hyper: I haven't made any of my travel plans yet, whether I'll come up the day before or the day of the show, but definitely want to get together with whichever Interference peeps are going to be in town.

I hope they have a second show in Oakland. I think they are waiting for a while to announce any other shows if any until more tickets are sold for the current shows that are on sale. A 2nd show would affect Seattle the most, but Seattle is selling well so far so lets see:)

We're hoping for a second show but for now are booked in at the Holiday Inn Express Oakland Airport for the night of the 16th only for now. It is near the Coliseum and apparently they run a free shuttle service to the Coliseum on game days - so hopefully they'll do the same after the show!

Does anyone know how Anaheim 2 sales are doing? I believe the first Anaheim show sold out quicker than Oakland but it also has a lesser capacity I think. Maybe if they wait a while longer they can pick up enough new interest to fill Oakland for another show - once more folk realise U2 are coming to town and the first night is sold out.

I think I'm just going to book a hotel anyway and if asecond show is added on I'll just change my reservation.

Funny story about this show:

After Dallas, Mr.Z said he wouldn't line up at 6am for a show ever again. Then last night I said "I was talking to some U2 buddies and they asked what I'm going to do, since you won't line up early and clearly I'm going to want to." He says "Oh I'll line up with you, whatever."

See, he's practically as big a fan as I am - he's just ashamed to admit it and is trying to play it cool :cute:

I booked a hotel last night for the 13th-17th. I'm going to do some siteseeing the days before the show.

there is no 2nd show, they will open up mt.davis at $30 seats possibly in the new year...the front of the outer stage will be 10 feet behind 2nd base

We believe the seating chart at ticketmaster.com is wrong based on the seat locations people have listed at stubhub.

It appears that the lower rows of the outfield football seats will NOT be in place, so the stage will be in a traditional center field placement, NOT directly behind the baseball diamond.

I suppose it is possible that the Mount Davis seats will be opened up, but they may not be worth the price of admission.

^I agree. When ever a second show is announced they add it on right away. Why would they wait for a few months?

Common sense, no?

If there was going to be a 2nd show, they would have announced it by now.

On POPMART, they put the first two Giants stadium shows on sale in mid-February. The third show did not go on sale until late April or early May!

There is no law that says you have to put the 2nd show on sale right after the first, especially if your concerned about people's money being diverted to Christmas. It would make sense to wait a few months, let people's wallets recover, and then put a 2nd show on sale if they in fact intend to do a second show. Again, there is plenty of time.
