That was actually the original lyric. It's on the R&H version and often how it's sung live.

My dad has a habit of ruining song lyrics for me. In "Walk On", where it goes "And if your glass heart should crack..." he says "Glass eye." So now whenever I hear that song, I sing "glass eye"...and that includes when I heard it live! I find it almost impossible to hear the original lyrics now.

Oh and Silver and Gold...something about a "dark spider" or a "glass spider".
