So what show do you all think has been the best so far? I went to the Dallas show, thought it was pretty damn good.

I attended 6 shows so far and 3 of them had magic atmosphere

2nd Barcelona
Chorzow
2nd London

But I can't decide which one was the best:love:

It's impossible to say which show this tour has been their best. No one has seen each and every concert. Also, even at the same concert experiences differ due to circumstances (where you end up, who is next to you, how your general mood is that day, what your expectations are).

That said, of the shows I've seen, these are the top ones:
- Barcelona 2: All the things that did not go smoothly on the first night they nailed it on the second. It gelled, it worked, it awed us, it was amazing.
- Amsterdam 2: Quite a setlist change, three tour premieres and a crowd that was completely into it.
- London 2: Excellent performances, great crowd and a great vibe overall.

But my favourite one has been:
Boston II

I can't really describe it. It is Boston, so the crowd LOVES U2. And they loved Snow Patrol too, who opened for the last time. Not opening with Breathe. UTEOTW with Melissa onstage (who was excellent). The Boston flag that got onstage during Unknown Caller. The overall performance.
After this concert I just wanted to hug everyone I saw. It was that good.

THIS. There's no way to say which show was "best", as it's such a subjective analysis. That being said, i saw 7 shows this tour, and my favorites are:

1) NJ 2 (the audience was amazingly loud and boisterous, and the band lapped it up-- even Willie called the night "magical")

2) Dublin 2 (something special happened this night-- perhaps the first night hometown jitters wore off. it started raining during "Unkown Caller" and it was just a beautiful moment)

3) Chicago 2 (maybe just in comparison to Chi 1, but the band seemed to have more energy, the crowd was louder, and it was just an overall better experience)

Milano 1, despite having a not-too-special setlist, is just damn special. Same with London 2. I'm also partial to Chicago 1 somewhat (yes, I was there), mainly because Bono's voice was downright incredible (it even sounds amazing on the bootleg).

for the north american leg, chicago 2. of course i'm biased because i was there, but come on. your. blue. room. let me tell you, being there and hearing the organ intro and knowing it was its live debut...i'm not gonna lie, it still brings a tear to my eye. hell, watching videos of it on youtube still gets me misty eyed.

Boston II

That's the one you went to, right?

That's what I would have said too -- because of course any show with me in attendance would be just that much better than any without me! :D

For the ones I attended

Wembley 2 - band performance and setlist
Zagreb 2 - best crowd
Cardiff a close 2nd on both counts

worst - Barca 1. But I can forgive an opening night. But i do know someone who has been to a shedload of shows who thinks it was the best  May also have something to do with my expectations being lowered after the first show?

I felt exactly the same way.

Well, obviously my opinion is going to be biased since I've only been to 4 shows:

Chicago 1
Toronto 1 & 2
Tampa

I can only say what was best out of those shows. I think Toronto 1 had my favorite set list, with Unknown Caller, Stay, Your Blue Room, and Until The End Of The World, all songs that have not been played at every single show.

However, crowd energy wise, Tampa was really breathtaking. It was ridiculously loud (I almost thought I was at Lane Stadium!) and for the first time out of all my shows, I think I really did see EVERYONE on their feet during Streets. Even in the seats behind the stage and the seats up near the clouds. Bono even said something to the effect of "That is an incredible sound you make", he was moved by it too.

I'd have to say Chicago 2.

Granted, I've only been to two so far, and haven't really gotten an overall impression of the European show, so there's that.

Actually, Cathal has. I want to ask HIM at the end of all this what he thought the best show was. But even then, you're right, it will be heavily influenced by his own experience at each particular show. I've been to shows that others thought were amazing, but because I was really wiped out, or was in proximity of annoying drunkards, the show experience didn't do it for me.

I also hate how this idea of "the BEST show" becomes like a competition, or a way of making others feel inferior, because they missed out on "the most epic show ever of all time", blah, blah, blah....

You can help us come to a consensus if you join us in Germany next year :shifty:

Nein, ich kann nicht zum Deutschland gehen. Ich habe nicht genug Geld.

something something something German-word-for-lottery something something, then JA! :flirt:

:up::up:

Boston II rocked hard. Snow Patrol bringing the U2 crew on stage and then having the U2 crew give Gary the feather boa was great. U2 were just fantastic. The bad reviews from the prior night must of set something off with the band because they were on fire on the second night. I'm still suffering post show depression after that show. It was that good.

Of the ones I've seen, my top 3 were:

1) Tampa
2) Dublin 3
3) Chicago 2

Dublin 3  .... must've had something to do with the Dunnes party tents in the GA line. ;)

seriously, Dublin 3 was a great show, and by far had the most amazing soundcheck: Drowning Man + Electrical Storm + I Will Follow =

Always difficult to judge this, but of all the shows i went to to Cardiff easily won out...
Best audience I've ever seen at a U2 show, any tour....
