What course are you doing that takes up all your time?

Then there's Critical Theory (which reminds me, I'm supposed to be reading an INCREDIBLY boring Plato excerpt at the moment), 20th Century American Literature, Prose & Poetry from 1485-1600, and Forensic Psychology.

May I suggest a new university? Such as mine, where we apparently bludge much more than anybody else.

I miss bludging.

Including you, for not noticing threads aren't tagged. :tsk:
:tsk: i wasn't even here yesterday! when i left the other day, my feet hurt me too much to sleep for some reason. then when i got home i was so exhausted i took a nap. when i woke up later, i felt like shit and didn't bother grabbing my laptop. i went to bed early (by my standards anyway, it was 1 am) and slept until 3:30 pm. the good news at least is i feel better today. all i could eat last night were saltines

Steph, is it just me, or are 90% of people in English and Literature courses complete and utter dithering pseudo-intellectual wankers? Because I'm stuck with one in my Historical Theory & Research tutorial, and his habit of randomly bringing up Voltaire or whoever when they're barely relevant to discussion just to name-drop them is driving me mad. And now that it's Student Union election season, he's sent out an e-mail to everybody about the Media Officer position that's just cracked me up.

Everybody, Melbourne University Student Union elections bring out the crazies. Here's an excerpt for your enjoyment:

Suburbia, sanity, tax cuts, procreation, industriousness, professionalism,
swimming pools, the Premier's Literary Awards, hard work, good grades, Tim
Winton, battlers, statistics, working families... ...these are the things
that constitute one's LIVELIHOOD.

But open sewerage, gutters, disreputable little shops, kinky sexual acts
which produce no children whatsoever, the horrors of mother nature,
lampreys, leeches, water snakes, bribery, corruption, obsession,
compulsion, house fires, birth defects, deformities, mucus (nasal), mucus
(vaginal), lice, lies, scabies, "rouges tourmentes", The Seafarer, Thomas
De Quincey, full moons, visions, prodigies, poetry, fiction, art...
...these things are the essence of IMMORTALITY.

And this is the difference between the professionalism of Independent
Media and the far more illustrious unprofessionalism of Activate. Let the
suburbanites leave their more peculiar candidates on the sidelines! Flee
your computer workstations, run to Union House, and cast your votes!

The Come By Chance Pump House?

Daniel (b_m2002) has a $expump at his work ... maybe it's from there?

 There has to be a connection, I'm sure. If I recall, there was a rather unique smiley for that pump.

that sucks! tonsillitis is nasty. other than being sick, how's your summer been?

Excellent, thanks! I did a lot of camping with cousins...great times in a few of my favourite spots that are close to the ocean. I also made a point of spending time with my 87-year-old grandfather, who lives all by himself on the other side of the province. When I brought my dog in the house, he took her straight to the fridge. He bought treats for her, even though he hadn't seen her in a year...that was so neat, I thought.

Other than that, just the usual: hiking, listening to music...so glad I'm not sick anymore, though...I get so grumpy when I'm not 100 percent. Hope your summer was great!

Hey, Steph! So right about the moose...that's the point in the drive when your eyes start glazing over, at least it always has been for me, coming from the west coast.

Those negatives do not significantly detract from HTDAAB's great worth, and certainly not enough to lower the star rating from five. If I could give it more, I would! This album is a wonderful work, hopeful and realistic at the same time, made by four accomplished musicians with mature and thoughtful outlooks. No good collection of albums should be without How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.

So now Pwn Ax Night has turned into Pwn Ax Day too ...

I, uh, may have to go and change my Amazon reviews from the crap I wrote back in 2004 or whenever.

Of course! It makes me laugh. And you left what I added to your page.

I'm glad everybody seems to like it. I know of at least one other Wikipedia user who's copied it for their own page.
