This isn't a question to bait you but exactly what did Mr. Vittner do?

Did he actually have the sex, or did he call an escort service and have a steamy phone conversation?

There is a diiference, although it's still wrong for a lawmaker to behave this way.

I mean did an escort ever surface and claim that she had the sex w Vittner?

Moreover, didn't Vittner make things right with his wife thru counseling before all of this surfaced?

I mean could Brother Vittner just had a case of the "lonelies" being on the road and all and accidently called the escort line and then this all blew up?

Please clarify, because I don't know what happened except his number was on a phone log.

According to my dad three (children) was the magic number to prove you weren't gay. Because you could grit your teeth and force yourself to have sex with a woman to get one or two children, but to get three kids...well, you just couldn't be gay. I have two siblings, so dad couldn't have been gay -- no matter what else he did. :lol: He was the most homophobic person I've ever met. Given my experience with him (and a couple others to a lesser degree) I can't help but wonder about very virulently homophobic people. I feel for their families.

And embarrassingly he knew all the local "hot-spots" including the notorious men's rooms and highway rest stops. He never did "officially" come out, but in his later years he didn't do much to hide it. We lived in a small rural town and most knew he was gay (and had known for decades), but "if you were a better wife he wouldn't do that" was always implied (and sometimes said outright) to my mum.

So whenever I hear of these cases I find myself going back and forth between having a great deal of sympathy for the poor guy and having a great deal of anger towards the selfish bastard.

Actually he adopted his children; they're from his wife's first marriage. I don't know how old the kids were at the time, or how long he and his wife have been married. But that's part of what bothers me about it...again, it's not for me to judge, I probably shouldn't even speculate, but I tend to imagine there's a continuum to denial, from people who genuinely think they can 'overcome' it ("Oops! Satan made me slip up again, but I can quit anytime...really...") to those who do recognize their attractions to the same sex aren't going away and they're going to sneak around occasionally ("But I'm not one of those GAY people, I'm a Real Man with a wife and kids and a prestigious public service job, and it's no one's damn business how I unwind in private"). The thought of people who lean towards the latter thinking they're better than others for it is what really disturbs me; the former may be just as hypocritical when condemning others, but at least they aren't consciously presenting a false self to secure others' support. Perhaps there isn't ultimately a meaningful distinction between the two, but it sure seems to me like there is.

Well, Craig didn't have "the sex" either.
And maybe Craig had just a case of "lonelies" and tried it, but it went wrong.

The only difference I see here really is the gender of the other person.

Seriously though, a friend of mine's parents just got divorced and her father has discovered his "true orientation." I can't imagine what that family must be going through.

I don't see 'value voters' beating down the doors at polling places.

I don't believe the GOP in the Senate can throw him out.


The only thing they have on him,
is a guilty plea to a misdemeanor.

There really is no claim of any lewd behavior,
did he expose himself?

There have been people caught in public parks or bathrooms actually engaging in exposed sexual behavior.


This guy just tapped his foot a few times and it slid over into the next stall.

However the GOP is on a rampage - because it appears this guy might actually be “homosexual”!!

Or more importantly the appearance and public perception is there.
