Richard Perle was the Assistant Secretar of Defence under President Reagan I believe. He is one of the "hawks" in the Bush Administration. He is now in charge of the committee that pretty much guides President Bush's foreign policy.
I have found his name spelled two different ways in newspapers "Pearl" and "Perle". Perle is the correct version.
Here is an interview with him in this mornings Gulf Times:
Richard Perle is not well liked at all by Arab leaders as he in 1996 worked for Benjamin Netanyahu. He helped formulate an advocate that Israel move away from Palestinian peace ?to a traditional concept of strategy based on balance of power.? His policy paper also advocated that Israel work to overthrow Saddam Hussein. The paper was titled ?A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm" and again was written in 1996.
When doing your searches you will be more successful with the PERLE spelling of his name.
