Can anyone help? I have part of an old interview with Bono on cassette tape. I dubbed it from a friend, and so I don't know the source material. On it the interviewer says he has the original demo of Out of Control, and Bono pleads with him not to play it. The interviewer plays it anyway, and asks Bono what the demo session was like. Bono says he remembers standing on the bridge on O'Connell Street, wanting to jump off, because the song sounded so bad.

Does anyone know what this is from, and the date of the interview? Thanks so much!

i don't know where it's from but if you mean as in the version that made it to U2 three then yes it is horrible! it improved a lot between then and when it made it onto boy.

Yeah, the demo sounds really bad.

I forgot too, Bono tells the interviewer that he found a very interesting translation of the lyrics in Japan. It was "Monday morning, knitting ears of gold."
