Edge Vs Lanois

Ha ha, dont worry folks, its not another mad pointless comparisson. Just intrested to know your views on this.
Do you think Edge draws heavily on Daniel Lanois guitar sound, or is it the other way round? Anyone whois familiar with Lanois's solo stuff will hear a lot of Edge-esqe sounding guitar moments in his records.

Lanois acknowledges a heavy U2/Edge influence for his first record, Acadie.
Other than that, I don't know. They both use delay, and focus on getting a great sound, I guess this is where they sound similar.

Edge and Lanois always worked together, they got together on the sound, they're more like brothers of guitar
