I think that you can't compare them to anyone. Think about it this way....when Yellow comes on the radio, Who doesnt know the words? If not to the whole song then just at least to the Chorus. No other band writes songs that can be sung at concerts like that. And for Coldplay unlike other band it's not just that one song...If you go to one of thier shows everyone know the words to EVERY song.

Seriously, where does that guy get off on writing songs about the Crusades? I won't bash anyone for liking Coldplay, but how is that not incredibly pretentious? And that song is full of so much empty space. The 'oh whoa whoa whoa whoaaaa's at the end are basically just Martini and Eno going, man, what a fucking topper track, we are so proud of this, let's REALLY FUCKING BRING IT HOME AND THERE WON'T BE A DRY EYE IN THE HOUSE but it's just FUCKING BULLSHIT IT SUCKS NOBODY SHOULD LIKE IT
