My parents have been together 33 years... they were married at age 18. They've both been through the ringer with each other, and the only thing that's kept them together is that they both need each other (and are grateful for one another because of that) worse than they've ever hated each other.

But my father and I clash hard, because while mom's passive a lot of the time, I'm more likely to talk back and argue with him, which drives him up the wall. But dammit, when he's wrong, I think he oughta be told :angry:

well, i'm a little worried by a wall post someone left me on facebook...my coworker asked if i was coming to a meeting tomorrow for them to discuss them closing our department. i had no clue about it until she told me. :slant: now i'm wondering if it's true or if it's just gossip, and they're just holding a regular meeting.

However, it's also pretty comforting because the other is always going to be there for me. Ick, that does sound like it'd be exhausting. I've been very lucky that Mum and I are incredibly close, and on the rare occasion that any tension comes up between us, we can't stay mad at each other for more than an hour. Things are pretty constant for me in that I'm getting on well with Mum and battling or ignoring Dad. Usually ignoring, since battles with my father are difficult to win in the short term, and almost impossible to win in the long term. I'm hoping he's going to mellow as he gets older and achieves his dream of owning a vineyard, and that does seem to be coming true to an extent.

thanks :hug: only half of me thinks it's true, because i've heard tons of gossip while i've had this job. if i believed all of it, well...i dunno. i'd be a moron. there were rumours a couple years ago we'd move back to the casino months after we moved to corporate (we never did), our boss was supposedly leaving for vegas, and...well, more rumours about us moving back to the casino.

i obviously can't make it to the meeting, but i'll wait until afterwards and hear what happened before i jump to any conclusions.

If lots of gossip goes around, then the chances of it being a rumour are high.
 
Woah, some insane Olympic weightlifting was just shown on TV. This little 55kg, 17 year old Chinese guy lifting 160kg for the gold. Fucking impressive stuff.

(Am I still alone as the only person watching the Games right now? :uhoh: )
 
Khan, your Di list was f'ing weird :lol: I liked a lot of it, but by far the best part was the last six tracks, all amazing.
