The problem seems to be that when the thread is dead, it discourages participation. People look in, see not much is happening, so they move on. If something's happening and others are obviously around, then they jump in. But you can't really manufacture life out of a dead thread either ...

Post-colonial historiographical theory MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE. It's just a bunch of pricks with axes to grind from literary theory who think they know half a thing about history, so they write wanky bullshit with shitloads of jargon that not even other history specialists can understand. God, it infuriates me. My tutor may just get a rant as opposed to an essay next week.

I missed Spicks and Specks! I resumed my forensic medicine course tonight, which is at Sydney Uni's department at Westmead Hospital. I'll be missing everything for a few weeks. But I'm hoping I can just blow the rest as it really overlaps with uni, and there's no point doing it twice. Not that it matters.

It's obvious the lecturer just about idolises Nandy while I'm going to pretty much rubbish his ideas, as they deserve to be rubbished since the guy clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. Having some academic detachment is going to be a little hard when I just want to rip this crap to pieces.
