OAR - Of A Revolution

Anyone ever hear of them? I had never heard of them until 4pm friday when a friend called me and offered me a ticket to their show. I was iffy since it was last minute, but then he explained it was 2nd row center at Jones Beach (Long Island NY right on the water). I said yes because I had never been that close in a large venue. I had a real good time.

They are a medley of Dave Matthews, 311, & Sublime. They most resemble a jam band and throw in some ska, reggae, and the occasional U2 esque sing along anthem.

To top it off, for one of their encores, they did a fantastic version of Sunday Bloody Sunday. And of course the crowd went nuts.

I think of myself as being pretty savvy when it comes to current music. i guess these guys slipped under my radar somehow. It was a fun show.
