I was feeling kinda crappy, but I've cheered up after a shower and a chapter of Frankenstein. Et cetera.
I might cheer up after a shower too. I'd just need someone to rub my back....

nice!! i wish they played songs other than pride, streets, wowy, sbs, new year's day, ishfwilf, one or mysterious ways on our radio.Yowch, good luck with that!
It's not a golden oldies station, that's the weirdest! And they played it yesterday too! And I gotta say, it fuckin' ROCKS on the radio actually. This station plays a fair bit of U2 songs, usually hit singles and such, and popular music/trash, it's a nice mix. But yeah, this I didn't expect!
On the other station I heard Peace on Earth last night. I've never appreciated that song more than then, since it was the final song to be played before going live to Amsterdam to our national remembrance ceremony and the 2 minutes of silence for war victims.
What's sociology about actually?
you'd think there'd be plenty. The thing that wins about doing History is no exams.

consider it done?I might cheer up after a shower too. I'd just need someone to rub my back....

Nah, you can't practically set an exam in your average History course, given people will have their different specialisations and things. Anything you could set that would cover everybody would be generic and lowest-common-denominator to the point of uselessness. It'd just end up being bullshit "memorise names and dates" stuff, which isn't what History's about.
Oy free hugs!hugs for people feeling crappy. i give 'em out for free.

to be honest i don't really know i'm sooooo far behind, i don't have any of the books, i think it's the study of human behaviour in society?
you'd think there'd be plenty.
Brb, swimming to Australia.I could do with a neck massage right now, actually.
consider it done?
Brb, swimming to Australia.
Can you make it before I go to bed in ten minutes?
I'm afraid I'm going to have to wake you up.
ah, this is true. i never really did history, i immediately thought of year 10 level stuff.Nah, you can't practically set an exam in your average History course, given people will have their different specialisations and things. this is true too though. we had an exam for theology, that's pretty damn open.Couldn't you do something, say, on how History has been constructed in your chosen course?
We have a radio station like that too but not many people listen so it's going under...Oy free hugs!
Hm, those are the regulars here on the 80-90s station, I quit listening because they always play the same bunch of hits.
This station I'm listening to now is quite different, it's a mix of 'golden oldies' and recent hits, so I get to hear the stuff that's hot these days(katy perry, lady gaga etc.) and some good old tunes, be it U2, Aerosmith or Pearl Jam. And they play Magnificent quite often too. At least a couple of times a week!
Would be a laugh if I'd hear Mofo some day on the radio!
That doesn't sound good! Go study!
Though I don't think it needs a study. Humans are selfish, dumb idiots who don't deserve a study. The end.

I know... uni has just turned me into a completely unmotivated being as far as study goes. but i think what you've just said is probably the crux of the subject.
Couldn't you do something, say, on how History has been constructed in your chosen course?
Going under.. .down under...
I'm easily amused.
Wow, university claimed another victim! I should probably finish my lab report I need to hand in friday.. .I sorta almost finished it a week ago but totally too unmotivated to finish.
that was a good one!
Yeah.. good to see I'm not the only one. I'm one of the few people I know who's actually enjoying their course however.
Say you're doing Crisis Zones of Europe (a real course I did; it ruled). One person will be looking at the works of Mickiewicz in Poland, another person will be looking at the Prague Spring, and a third will be looking at the use of nationalism in Ceaucescu's Romania. Good luck setting an exam to cover all of them.
this place just saps away it's kind of sad it's been so dead lately! maybe it's because i've been posting more, kind of altering the superthread-time continuum.I think everyone on here who goes to uni hasn't been motivated for a while!
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy my course. But it's just too much. All my friends who do other courses have a few days off a week, they've really leisure timetables and then they have all our regular holidays.
I'm stuck having 40 hour weeks(including 1 hour travelling towards uni, and 1 hour back) and no days off, no holidays other than christmas and summer..there's way too much maths and physics for me That really kills my motivation.
cos i'm in a writing course, it makes it a bit easier, i can never really be 'wrong'. and i have no labs, just tutorials and lectures.3 days sounds like heaven. Thank feck our last period will be a light one! One subject/project thingy, 3 days a week! I can't wait! first there's three more lab weeks and another report and a poster presentation.
Do.not.want.
I'd post here more often, but usually when I get here in the evening there's nobody here.
such as me.Actually, I take back my earlier criticism of the thread locale... I love any word that starts with "ng", particularly when dealing with people who don't know how to pronounce it.
