Newcastle routs Everton in Premier League

NEWCASTLE, England (AP) -- Nolberto Solano scored two second-half goals in two minutes Friday to lift Newcastle to a 6-2 victory over Everton in the Premier League.
Newcastle tightened its hold on fourth place with 59 points and moved within six points of league-leading Liverpool.
This was Everton's first loss under manager David Moyes following two straight victories.
Everton has 36 points, four above the final relegation spot held by Ipswich (32).
Friday's game was the first of a full weekend in English soccer.
