The American Ireland Fund have posted video of Bono?s speech on receiving their annual Humanitarian Award last month.
?When I'm in Washington, I'm afraid someone is going to tell me I'm not with the band but that hasn't happened,? Bono told 1,000 guests, describing himself as like ?an annoying fan? who reads the sleeve notes and criticised the band. ?Those sleeve notes are the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights, they are a force for equality and justice.?
Bono was recognized for his efforts to encourage debt cancellation, increased aid and trade incentives for Africa's impoverished nations.
