well, I've joined the ranks of Maddie, Mrs. Edge and the evil Morleigh...I had my first belly dancing lesson tonight!!!
So my instructor's name is "Tatika" and I thought she was middle eastern by the sound of it: ooh, how jolly exotic!
But no. No, no.
Tatika is a petite (and rather um, 'hippy') middle-aged white woman with very short hair and glasses!! She was stuffed into her leotard like...well...quite unlike Morleigh, let's put it that way.
For the entire class she wore a multicolored and very noisy 'shimmy' belt, so every move she made was 'ching...ching...ching...'
The class was fun, but weird! There were all shapes and sizes of women, hooray! But I'm SO flippin uncoordinated, BLARGH!!! I could either do the feet OR the hands but not both together! (and I was once a cheerleader!)
I have a new respect for the evil Morleigh I guess...I think I'll be sore tomorrow!
But hmmm...for whom do I dance???
