What are those spots
under your left eye -
I?ve often wondered,
with those sunglasses
its hard to tell.
And that scar on your chin ?
well, that?s from holding a spotlight
on the Edge
as you rattled and hummed.

As for those bloodshot eyes ?
less wine and more slumber
is my advice.
Then maybe that furrowed brow would disappear,
can?t save the world single handed,
although you may think so ?
your permanently sleep deprived!

Oh to run my hand over those
paper thin lips,
caress your soft stubble ?
pull that ear ring ?
smell and taste you ?
if only.

Oh dear
I?m drifting!
better just keep writing -
take some deep breaths.

And as for those spots,
well, I suppose for a man
who wears his heart
on his sleeve ?
there has to be some mystery.
