Who's your 'Sugar Daddy'?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Hmm...I have to say it's kind of catchy but I'm not crazy about the lyrics.
I wonder if Edge is actually playing guitar on the track, because there's some interesting stuff going on there.
Anyway here are the lyrics, the music you will have to find on your own I guess.
It's officially out on the 17th of November in the UK and on the 25th in the US it seems.

Enough talking, I give you...
Tom Jones - Sugar Daddy

I've got male intuition
I've got sexual ambition
I'm the last great tradition
Let me state my position

The older I get
The better I was
It's all just a show
It's all just because
The show must go on
What else can it do?
I'm gonna drop the load on you

Sugar, sugar daddy
Sugar

I got no inhibition
I got all the ammunition
Got the moves with position
Can't you see my condition?

You gotta get your hands dirty
When you're digging a ditch
And ??? gods
Revenge on the rich

Got the money got the moves
Got the looks and the brakes
Got the shirt got the shoes
Got what it takes

You've got to lay it down
Tell me what you need
You've got to lay it down
Get up, up from your feet you know (?)
I get it down
You wanted sorrow, want it sweet
Daddy always gives you what is good for you

Sugar, sugar daddy
Sugar

I've got male intuition
It's a desperate condition
Nearly out of ammunition
Sexual ambition

Whoa!
Holy schmoly
I'm a one man army
Yeah, a one man mob
Woo-hoo
I'm the McDaddy
You don't send a boy to do a man's job

And you make me feel
Like I'm not alone
I've been singing this song
Since before you were born
Baby, you're invited
But your friend can't come
He's a little too excited
Maybe a little too young

Ah baby, you're invited
But your friend can't come
He's a little too rich
Maybe a little too young
The show must go on
What else can it do?
I'm gonna drop it all on you

Sugar, sugar daddy
Sugar, sugar daddy
Sugar, sugar daddy
Sugar, sugar daddy
Sugar

I thought those were joke lyrics until I saw the credits.

Also I thought the length was 24 hours, which seemed a little excessive. Holy schmoly!

Actually I added the credits to the end of the post myself.
The song I just listened to was the real deal, however and so are the lyrics I've transcribed in my previous post too, unfortunately.
Like I said not too thrilled about them and I hope Bono has got something far superior ready for their own album.

Come on, I couldn't have come up with lyrics like that even if I tried.

There, I've fixed the information and hopefully it makes slightly more sense.

 Holy Schmoly!

Well I doubt this will be the direction for U2's new album, but for Tom Jones it seems just about right. Sounds like a fun song. Where can we listen to it?

Sounds perfect for Tom Jones. Dont forget guys, this song was tailor made for Jones, he wrote it with him in mind.

I really hope Edge wrote those lyrics and stuck Bono's name on them to make them sound credible.

It's obvious some of you aren't familiar with Tom Jones...

Well, I for one am not familiar with him....but if this is any indication of the lyrical direction for the next U2 record, we aren't getting a masterpiece, we're getting a shit bomb, and Danny Lanois is an idiot.

you've never heard of Tom Jones? Oh wow...

perhaps you should familiarize yourself with Tom Jones before you start declaring the new album shit based on a Tom Jones song

Well then educate yourself before speaking...

if it means they lose an idiot like you as a fan, then i applaud the "new" direction.
seriously, we should nominate this fool as "the one likely to jump to an uninformed idiotic conclusion".

I just imagined U2 doing a cover of Sex Bomb.

Bono IS an empathic song writer, this seems to be just perfect for Tom Jones.

hahahah, oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! You guys really jumped on me there.....calm down, of course I've heard of him, I'm just not familiar with his music, or lyrics in this case....and I wasn't declaring the new record as shit, I was simply saying that IF this is a hint or IF this is anything like the new record, then it will be shit.....and it will be very frustrating....I think my comment came off as a little harsh because I posted that right after reading those lyrics....but again, I'm not familiar with his lyrics so hopefully my reaction makes more sense

oh and kingofsorrow, that's so hurtful!!

I'm a pretty devoted U2 fan, king....In fact I just spent the past 3 hours of my night talking about Bono/U2 and sending u2 vids to a friend who I still have yet to convert...he's being a little stubborn, but I think he's getting the hang of it :)
