Your nightmare setlist

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
North Star wasn't flash, but Unknown Caller was way more awkward live. Definitely one of U2's few songs that got worse rather than better live.

1. Elevation
2. Sleep Like a Baby Tonight
3. Where The Streets Have No Name
4. Yahweh
5. Raised by Wolves
6. Beautiful Day
7. The Troubles
8. City of Blinding Lights
9. Wild Honey
10. Original of the Species
11. California
12. Get on your Boots
13. In a Little While
14. Out of Control / Space Oddity Medley
15. Sleep Like a Baby Tonight x2

16. The Miracle
17. White as Snow
18. Stuck in a Moment

19. Pride
20. Vertigo
21. One
22. Zooropa Alarm with Edge guitar pedal megamix

I don't mind an acoustic song or two, or even a full acoustic show IF I know that's what I'm getting; so some of the above setlists don't seem so bad to me in that context.

I think the biggest peeve would be an over-abundance of warhourses, so something like:

1. The Miracle
2. I Will Follow
3. Iris
4. Volcano
5. Elevation
6. Beautiful Day
7. I Still Haven't Found
8. City Of Blinding Lights
9. Vertigo
10. Every Breaking Wave (acoustic)
11. Stuck/Stay (acoustic)
12. Pride
13. Sunday Bloody Sunday
14. California
15. Mysterious Ways
16. Miss Sarajevo
17. In A Little While
18. Song For Someone
19. Where The Streets Have No Name

20. One
21. Sleep Like A Baby Tonight
22. With Or Without You
23. Walk On

This might be very close to what we will get..... I'm afraid this setlist is very much possible!

the stage is in the round with a massive, paper-mache volcano in the middle. it's filled with red food dye colored vinegar colored. the audience can smell it.

lights go out. we hear the Jock Jams "are you ready to rumble." flash strobe lights, drama club thunder claps. deep inside the volcano, baking soda falls into the vinegar, it "errupts," like a 5th grade science project. the band emerges on cue.

it's the U2 "about to blow" Volcano Tour 2015

1. Volcano ("hola El Paso! i've got something in you that's about to blow!")
2. Sleep Like A Baby Tonight -- ("every time i clap my hands, another teenager is touched by a priest")

6. California (Orchestral version, Modena-style)
7. Song For Someone ("we gave up irony around the turn of the century, but here's someone who nailed it as well back in the 90s," cue Alanis Morissette link-up to harmonize during the chorus)
8. PITNOL (every time he sings "love" the volcano erupts)

(giant piano wheeled out to the b-stage, Bono cracks his knuckles and takes a seat)

9. Grace ("here's a little ditty about a girl I once knew, her name was Grace O'Sullivan, nice girl, didn't change the world much though.")
10. Sweetest Thing
11. Angels Too Tied to the Ground

return to main stage

GOYB reprise vs Vertigo x2: THE NIGHTMARE SHOWDOWN.

Nightmare setlist for me has already been played. Night #1 in Vancouver. Nightmare as in; nothing special at all.
It reminded me of the ZOOTV setlists:
new songs + biggest hits + bullet

So I guess it actually also reminded me of the POPMart setlists.

Only less static.

They should at least try opening a show with Volcano, then immediately follow it with a sudden but yet awfully depressing segue into Streets. Then as the closing notes fade out around the arena Bono starts singing the intro to Red Light urging the crowd to join him. SOLID!

"You are rock and roll" chant segues into streets.

The Randomizer gave me a stinker of a show. LAdy with the Spinning Head is cool. Better into Crystal Ballroom the show highlight. If we keep complaining U2 will give us random setlists. Although some us would find them awesome for the randomness and rarities.

23 songs by any other band at a U2 show.

U2 couldn't find 23 songs of theirs that I didn't like 10 of them. Maybe if they played October back to back, but then there's 4 to 6 songs I would love.

Is it the amount of rarities they played during ZOOTV and POPMart or the awesome setlist variety why these tours do not feature in your worst dreams?

Dirty Day, Lemon, Daddy's Gonna Pay, Numb, WGRYWH, Love Is Blindness, Last Night On Earth, Discotheque, Gone, Velvet Dress, Please, etc. are considered rarities these days and were all played during their tours.
To say that post-2000's material is even in the same category as those is nuts.
