Hi my friend doesn't know much U2 but since we're in a band together is well aware of how big a fan I am of them one day he listened to 'Lady with the Spinning Head (Extended Dance Mix)' and was slightly less-than-impressed but still asked me to make him a U2 CD to see what he thought of it!
I complained there's way too much to fit onto one CD and managed to convince him to let me make two discs (one for 1980-1990 and one for 1990-2000 as I know damn well he hates vertigo and the rest of the '...Atomic Bomb' he's had the "pleasure" of hearing so have left out said album!)
NOW TO THE POINT I've selected the following 16 tracks and am trying to put them in a decent running order.
1. Zooropa
2. MOFO (Live - either MTV Europe Awards '97 or Mexico City)
3. One
4. Discotheque
5. The Fly
6. Until the End of the World
7. Your Blue Room
8. Last Night on Earth
-
9. Even Better than the Real Thing
10. Lemon
11. Elevation
12. Numb
13. Gone (New Mix from Best of 90-00)
14. Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car
15. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
16. Wake Up Dead Man
bear in mind the song choices are pretty much set in stone! The only ATYCLB song he likes is Elevation so Beautiful Day etc. are not options I may have missed one obvious choice so someone point it out i guess?
The problem i'm having with the tracklisting is I'm trying to keep it in two 'SIDES' but the last few tracks on "side two" don't really seem to be in the right order.
I think with the tracks like 'Daddy's Gonna Pay...' and 'Hold Me...' they seem like sort of "BIG(ger)" tracks if you know what I mean and i usually like those sort in the hallowed penultimate spot before the final one brings it to a close but having them both there seems a bit odd in terms of flow... is this making any sense to anyone?
any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, see what you think?
