Twilight Concert Series AKA Utah doesn't suck as bad as I usually say it does

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Everyone should move here, then we could all go to concerts together.

Free concerts.

Modest Mouse, New Pornographers, and The Dodos have all been rumored so far for this year. Apparently the announcement will be tomorrow. Hopefully all of them end up true.

I'm in heaven right now, and a number of shows still haven't been announced, and most bands still don't have their openers set up either.

July 8: Modest Mouse, Avi Buffalo

July 15: Girl Talk

July 22: Beirut

July 29: New Pornographers, Dodo's

Aug. 5: Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Jamie Lidell

Aug. 12: TBA

Aug. 19: TBA

Aug. 26: She & Him

The first 4 shows are just ridiculous, I know where I'll be every Thursday night in July.

This year's free summer shows were just announced, and I'm absolutely thrilled.

JULY 14 - EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY / NO AGE

July 21 - THE DECEMBERISTS / TYPHOON

July 28 - EDWARD SHARPE & THE MAGNETIC ZEROS / TBA

August 4 - THURSTON MOORE / KURT VILE

August 11 - BRIGHT EYES / TBA

August 18 - GHOSTLAND OBSERVATORY / TBA

August 25 - LUPE FIASCO / TBA

If there was a smilie showing someone jumping up and down while pumping their fist in the air repeatedly, you'd be seeing it here.

Explosions for free? I would say the same for Lupe Fiasco, but I saw him for free back before he was big.

Could your previously lame state have a conversation with my still-lame state, please? (Although we did get Arcade Fire and Muse out of some crazy dumb luck, the likes of which I'm sure will never happen again.)

Wild Nothing is the opening band on the Bright Eyes date now, and Phantogram is opening for Ghostland Observatory.

I like free concerts.

Prepare to hate me and my state...

July 5 – Beach House / The Walkmen

$5

Ha. It's been called that for 25 years, the vampires copied us!

This is the first year they're charging money to get in, which I'm actually really happy about. Should make the actual "concert" vibe much more enjoyable.

Here's the full line up.

July 5: Beach House & The Walkmen
July 12: Raphael Saadiq and JJ Grey & Mofro
July 19 & 26 tba
Aug 2: My Morning Jacket & tba
Aug 9: Passion Pit & Austra
Aug 16 Iron & Wine & Kathleen Edwards
Aug 23 M. Ward and Devotchka
Aug 30 Common & tba

My friends and I huddled around an Android at lunch to get the line up. I actually want to see almost all of them, except for Raphael Saadiq and Common. The rest (especially when they announce the other slots) are worth the $35 season ticket.

I'm really excited for Beach House/The Walkman, and charging $5 sounds like a good idea too. It should, as mofo said, improve the concert experience.

Who is going to pay 57 bucks to go see Huey Lewis and the news?
