Hopefully it'll get here before Christmas though. :hyper:

May be a small miracle if you get yours in time though.

I usually allow a week. Last year, a couple of the cards I sent to the US managed to arrive quicker though, much to my surprise! Think they did it in five days. So your card MIGHT make it, but I'm not optimistic.

I remember I once sent a parcel to NZ on the 20th, thinking it'd never make it there for Christmas, but of course it showed up on Christmas Eve! Timing.

And what is Underneath The Stars?

Ah, righto, well, I'll be on the look-out.

Oh that is just perfect. I'm hoping that's when the gifts I shipped home arrive.

It's the lead track on 4:13 Dream.

I think the only stuff I've heard from 4:13 Dream are when you've linked me to YouTube clips of an old cat lady singing about a perfect boy.

Listening now.

I swear part of this is giving me a Plainsong vibe.

I find the song to be The Cure's attempt to do post-rock, but what you're saying sounds more like John's view of the song, "The Cure doing the Cure"

I knew this would be the Liam Signal.

Not a bad song; I enjoyed it. I agree with John, it's The Cure doing The Cure. Better than that Perfect Boy/Only One shit.

Fair nuff, fair nuff. I don't think there's anything else on 4:13 Dream that there's a chance in hell you'll like :(

I should still listen to it and the self-titled album sometime to see what I think of them. My knowledge of The Cure's post-Disintegration discography is pretty much just Bloodflowers and a few select songs.

I can't see myself liking anyhing post-Disintegration other than Bloodflowers!

The Cure make me fucking despair. Everything up to and including Pornography was great, then there's just two albums I enjoy in their entire output since then!

Really? I thought you enjoyed that. Just specific tracks, then?

There are a few problems it suffers from.

1) It shouldn't have been a double album. I can really only find an EPs worth of tracks on there that are truly worthwhile

2) It has Let It Bleed syndrome, iow, it has one of my favorite songs of all time on it, and nothing else on it stacks up.

Ah, then our opinions on KMKMKM are closer than I thought. I definitely reckon there is only an EP's worth of good stuff there. Grossly over-long. Can't figure out why they thought it was a good idea, except perhaps they were too drunk at the time to even be conscious of the album's lengths. I know albums shoot past me quicker when I'm drunk!

Axver! AXVER! I've just heard this new band. They're not just ANY new band. No. They are far superior to any new band I've heard in recent memory. They're so fucking good. It's as if the essence of greatness and more greatness got it on and conceived GREATER greatness. Holy fucking fuck. You've GOT to hear these guys. I mean, fuck. Oh man, I'm stammering all over. I'm almost afraid of what hearing one of these songs will do to my spiritual condition. I may transcend the 189th Heaven. There's just...oh man.

Oh I'm sure the alcohol had EVERYTHING to do with it.

Traviud wins the Internet today.

Robert Smith, meanwhile, is still getting over a hangover from a late eighties binge. Don't play that BLUEGRASS too loud! He'll get angry and

UPSET!

So I actually bothered to listen to that Mumford & Sons song LM posted, as it's one I hadn't heard.

The first two minutes are two of the most indescribably boring minutes of music I have ever heard in my life. Doesn't matter how acceptable the last minute or so is; that song's woeful.
