The Cure: 4:13 DREAM

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Also, apparently Porl hasn't been at any of the 2011 shows, and there's been no real explanation for why.

I won't hear that kind of talk, Danny Boy. You can take that attitude of yours right on out of this thread.

The Sydney shows were amazing, so these cities are in for a treat.

They got nominated for the Hall of Fame, which is cool for them I guess.

I like the idea of a band playing a full album live in its actual track order. I've never been to a show like that, and I've always wanted to. I'm a really big fan of Seventeen Seconds, and would be thrilled to hear that its entirety. I like Faith a lot too, but rarely find myself wanting to hear it. Debut is fun, but I wouldn't necessarily care to hear all of it live.

Yeah, hopefully there's more news.

Well, the big news (although unbeknownst to them until now) is obviously the Rock Hall nomination. It's actually going to be rather pivotal because if The Cure gets in, the nominators will see that there's an untapped well of 80's alternative acts (New Order, Replacements, Depeche Mode, etc.) that need to be inducted pronto.

Probably would be mine, especially since a number of those songs will never be played live again. Similarly, I'd rather hear Bruce play Asbury Park in full than Born To Run, which would probably have 5-6 songs played from it every night regardless.

Agreed. I was sad, SO sad, to have missed Spiritualized performing "Ladies & Gentlemen" in its entirety in NYC last year. And I was in the city just a week later. I'd have planned the whole trip differently had I known. And they only did it once, which sucked. That's one of those records that only makes sense when you hear it all at once so it's perfect for a performance like that.

I'd love to catch one of The Cure's shows when/if the tour expands but I'm guessing even if it did, it wouldn't come near me.

I see your point, but I'm not sure that Bruce comparison is really legit. Is there a Cure album that usually gets that kind of treatment?

Is there any song on Disintegration that doesn't have a shot of being performed on any given night? Plainsong is also one of their all-time most played.

Plainsong deserves to be played all the time though, it's crazily awesome live.

According to Thecure.com, these are the last "Reflections" shows they're doing. Hopefully ending that + the Rock Hall nomination will see a new album. Hell, if they get in, it's definitely the time to do it, with their names being in the news again and what not.

Distintegration isn't one of the albums I'd like to hear straight through anyway.

If it ensures that Untitled gets played, I would be alright with it.

I'm not sure why they chose the first three, rather than the more logical Seventeen Seconds/Faith/Pornography trio. It would set up the release of The Dark Album nicely.

Three Imaginary Boys must be fun for them. It would allow Robert to step out from the Ghoul Lord persona for a while.

The Cure is releasing a double album from their 2011 Bestival set.
