I was lucky enough to see them:

Anaheim 1: upper nosebleeds
Anaheim 2: GA (got autographs from Larry
and Adam....Way Cool!)
Anaheim 3: GA

Slane 1: somewhere out there!

LA 1: GA first row at the far end of the rail on Adam's side!!!! Sooo Happy! Also
Lucky enough to get again Adam's and Edge's autographs!!!

LA 2: GA same place as LA 1!! Made my day!

Vegas: GA 2nd row on Adam's side (when he saw me again he really let out a laugh!!! Will never forget his expression!!)

LA 3: GA again 2nd row on Adam's side.

Now you would guess that Adam is my favorite right? Well actually he wasn't...until now!!! I just loved being over there because I didn't get pushed or shoved (ALA Slane!) PLUS he was so cool... he even looked right at me for a picture I was about to take! (Which came out way cool!!)

Anyway all the expenses and the hours in line were all worth it!!! Would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

Hmmm...... I think it's time to start saving up for a trip to Europe next year!! Anyone interested!! HAHA!

Take care all!!

hmmm, only made it to 3 shows, even though I planned to go to 5.

San Diego (1 1/2 hour drive), in the heart. Smallest venue at which I have seen them, very cool.

Anaheim 1 (20 min drive)-, In the Heart. Not as much energy as San Diego.

LA3 (40 min drive)- In the Heart, very, very cool. More emotional, but a shorter show.

Okay I went to 5 this year:

1) San Jose
2) San Jose (2nd nite)
3) Oakland
4) Oakland (2nd nite)
5) Sacramento

Wished I had time off work like many of you and then I would have travelled all over the country to see as many of them as poss!!!

Best shows ever!

Five shows:

1) Chicago 5-16 (GA)
2) Chicago 10-15 (Behind the Stage)
3) Chicago 10-16 (GA)
4) St. Louis 11-28 (GA- got Larry's stick!!
biggrin.gif
)

I live in Chicago, so it was only about a half hour trip to see those. St. Louis was a six hour bus ride there and back.

-Adam, when asked what he does with the money he would have spent on drink.

"The babes, the feast, and the toga conspire to give Adam the bearing of a Caesar (one of the late, inbred, lunatic Caesars, perhaps, but a Caesar nonetheless.)"
-Bill Flanagan, at an after-concert soiree with the band and Co.

"If I didn't have my spoons, I'd go insane."

FIRST LEG----Phx-1st leg-traveled 12.25 mis round trip to pick up my now ex-girlfriend/crackaddict sat in GC..had a decent time after I tuned her out..

Bos.#3-traveled 3000 mis by plane..

Bos.#4-same trip see related story regarding Bos 4 at bottom and click on..all about BONO's goodness and my impulsivness..

3RD LEG----David Letterman Show-traveled 3000 by plane..gave Medallion to John Sampson Bono's body guard who assured me he would get it to Bono.
Shook Edge's + Bono's hand outside after Letterman...told him that John had something from me in their vehicle..as they were driving off Bono rolled down window and said "Thanks!"
Later that eve saw Bono performed w/Moby and Michael Stipe walked 2.3 miles to this venue..

Prov.1 drove 60 mis from Bos.Mass..harrassed by a certain member of U2 Sec..who will remain nameless..Bono acknowledged me at end of Kite and said -"Yeah,The BIG GUY will always DRIVE THE BIG CARS!"

Prov.2 round trip 120 mis(bk and forth from Bos.)

SLC drove 12 hrs.-600 mis from Scottsdale Az.
Las Vegas-6 hr.drive..the afore mentioned Sec guy was a little more friendly as I sought him out..

LA3-drove 5 hrs from Vegas w/JesseU2 bka-'the player'..met Edge afterwards..got his autograph..

Phx Show-Thanksgiving wkend..took my little girls..Bono took American Flag from my 6 yr. old..shook my 8 yr olds hand..
At the end of the show Bono asked for my little girls to be brought forward after he and Adam were smiling at them most of the night, and immedeately after fans in the Phx. audience held up signs that read-(at the beginning of Walk On)..

-"SAVING THE BIG GUY IN BOSTON SAVED US ALL!"

-"LOVE CONQUERED FEAR AT BOS#4!"

-"THANK YOU BONO FOR SAVING OUR FRIEND THE BIG GUY BOS 4"

Next Bono is callin for my kids..kneeling down playin and singing to them at center stage and my 8 yr. old is strummin Bono's green guitar and all 3 are singing at the same time..my 6 yr.old is simotaneously high fiving ppl on the front rail and my 8 yr.old is pocketing the guitar pick that Bono gave to her.Next kids are then being handed back down to me.
Randy Johnson next comes out w/the trophy..
..crowd goes wild..

And thats my yr w/U2..
Wouldn't trade it for anything..

Thanks for readin-

I'm what you might refer to ass a "bohemian" or a "broke ass punk" if you want to be an ass about it, so as a result I was only able to scam two tickets this tour.
My shows were:
April 12, Tacoma (Big love to the t town punks)
and Chicago 2, second leg.
I was in the heart both times. Why? Cuz I'm the most mackinest. Belive that.

4/17/01 - San Diego 2,000 miles by plane
5/4/01 - Lexington KY (5 minutes!), inside tip of the heart

)

11/13 - LA2 (an hour by car, was #15)
11/18 - Vegas (three hours, #108)
11/19 - LA3 (a very tired #108)

Seeing a band 7 times in one year doesn't make one crazy, does it? I agree with someone above--countless dollars, no regrets. Sounds like something from a U2 song, doesn't it? <grin>

1.Earls Court London, England August 21-> 16998 kilometers (10564 miles) 23 hour flight from Sydney with a stop over in Singapore
2. Earls Court, August 22-> 2 minute walk form Earls Court hotel
3. Slane - 1 hour bus drive from Dublin

OMG Diamond Bruno! How the hell did you afford all those!!!

Wish I could say 17 shows but...

1. London 19/08 (Second row from the tip)
2. London 21/08 (Right on the tip
wink.gif
)
3. Slane 25/08 (Second row from the tip)
4. Slane 01/08 (Front row in heart
smile.gif
)

All in all cost me about ?1500 inc travel, accomodation, second hand ticket prices. Was sooo scared that my Slane tix would turn out to be fakes!!

Was only earning ?200 pw at the time, but actually got demoted when I got back for being irresponsible - making up lame excuses to leave work early to join GA, taking a week of 'sick' to stay in Ireland for the second show....

But it was sooo worth it!

Ok, so here's the story...

tkramer & I went to Denver for the concert April 6th and then we tried to see them Nov. 7th but I passed out (altitude sickness) and spent the evening/night in the hospital (missed the concert-which really sucked because I was on the rail in the heart and had waited all day) so then I went in Kansas City Nov 27th. (travis had to work in North Carolina)

So, we paid for 3 shows but in reality, I only saw 2...

So there's my story...

Anaheim 1
LA2
Las Vegas

U2 was something special this year. The crowd at Anaheim 1 was too laid back (read "dead") but on the other hand maybe I should have brought more game to the show.

LA2 was a fantastic show! My best concert experience ever until...

Vegas! Met a bunch of cool Interferencers and other fans, and stood close to the tip of the heart for my first-ever GA experience (although I was just as close to the extended stage at PopMart!)

Looking forward to more U2 shows in the near future.

i would just like to take this time to say how much i love and appreciate my wonderful girlfriend! she's a good sport, being there for 14 of my 16(no 10/25--represented us at spiritualized show--and no 10/28--b/c of work).

i've been a fan for almost 20 years(i turn 30 tomorrow...ooohhhhhhh nnnoooooooo!) but i didn't see them until zootv(in:cha, atl;out:col). like many of you out there, i learned early on that you just don't miss U2 shows. luckily, i moved to nyc 6 years ago, which makes it so easy to see multiple shows. during popmart, i caught nj 1 & 3 plus a magical, stripped down set at the tibetan freedom concert(it was 3:30 in the afternoon! no lights, no props, just love!), but i could still kick myself for missing nj 2! so now, if there's any way possible, i'm there.

if there's anybody out there who knows how much we've spent on this tour, please don't tell us!

and finally...we'll see you guys in europe this summer!

NYC 10/27

Philly 11/2

A bunch of these *happened* to coincide with work trips. I have a lot of frequent flyer miles so I didn't actually pay for any flights and I usually stayed at friends houses. And I had 5 weeks vacation this year! Woo Hoo!!!!! It was the best summer of my life. I met the coolest people. But honestly - I don't think I could do it again! Next tour I think I'll stick to my local shows. This was a once in a lifetime sort of adventure.

And I am in the NYC area so I drove to most of them.

...Its no secret that a liar won't believe in anyone else...

Albany, June 2nd, only a 3 hour drive. Went with my borther & sister-sister-in-law who live nearby. Wanted to go to Providence show, but didn't make it because it was during the week.
