I resent the lack of research in this article.

washed-up rock star

I'm not sure what the term washed-up refers to, if he's still managing to sell out the gigs booked to him. Sure, they're at theaters instead of arenas, but his is a rare crowd that is truly into every moment of his show.

A singer who used to have people’s heads chopped off in his act

Still does it. It's awesome.

As long as Spider-Man doesn't interfere with U2's (hopefully) busy 2014 schedule, I couldn't give a rat's ass about anything to do with it.

They've taken in a lot of cash at times... but they spend even more cash to put the show on.

In order to break even on the initial investment they needed to sell out every show for about 4 years.

In the 2 1/2 years it's been running... so roughly 128 weeks... they've hit 100% of their tickets sold for the week exactly 5 times. They're currently hovering in the 50-60% sold range.

They bring in a lot of cash, yes... but it barely makes a dent on the repayment of their initial investment.

A singer who used to have people’s heads chopped off in his act is going to join a show in which a chorus kid had his foot chopped off.
