I don't have a child but I do have a prairie dog. When prairie dogs are babies they are just like human babies, they wake up crying every hour needing to be fed, or they're scared, or just want to be held. Clementine is the sweetest thing, but when he was a baby he was about to drive me nuts. One night he was screaming, so I put in ATYCLB and 'In a Little While' came on and Clementine just fell asleep. I had never seen him do that before. Once the song was over he woke up and started screaming again, so I just had the cd repeat the song and that was the first time that he slept through the entire night. Clementine is going to be 2 years old on May 10th, and to this day if I put on that song he falls asleep right away.
Oh and by the way, yes Clementine is a girls name...I know. It is very hard to tell the sex of a prairie dog. I had a prairie dog expert send some pics of prairie dogs 'personal parts' so I could tell what his sex was. My family called it prairie dog porn. I think because of me calling him Clementine and going 'come here girl' for a year, I believe that I have a confused prairie dog. He will stare at the t.v. screen when I have one of my U2 dvds in and bark everytime he sees Bono or Larry. I know one thing, I have a prairie dog with good taste in men.
