song of the day 11/2: Be There

I had trouble finding this song on Kaaza so if anyone has an actual MP3 link, that would be awesome. Here are the lyrics anyway.

You don't have to break your heart
In two my love
You don't have to play a part
It's you I love
You don't have to hide from yourself
You don't have to be someone else again

You don't have to rescue me
You don't have to watch me drown
You don't have to give to me
All I want is you

Be there, my love
Be there, tonight
Be there, my love
Be there, tonight

You don't have to dress yourself up
Or stay the same
You don't have to smile
If I say smile

You don't have to be the best
You don't have to give me rest
All I want is all you have
Nothing else
Nothing

Be there, my love
Just be there, my love

If you want the whole of me
That's all you'll get
I'll sing this song
I'd give my health
Give it all
You don't have to...

Ah, she comes on by
She says, I need you, my love
Ah, she says, all I want is you

You don't have to play your little game
If I fall apart
You don't have to work those strings
Or do those things
You're enough in my heart

You don't have to hide from yourself
You don't have to be someone else
All I want is all you have
All I want is you

Be there, my love
Be there, tonight
Be there, my love
Be there, tonight

Tomer, you need to, it's great. You can hear it if you look it up in the lyrics section of this forum. There's an Mp3 of it there.
I really love this song, and wish they had done more with it. I think they didn't because the lyrics are so personal; just my guess.

It is said to be a War outtake, although it doesn't sound like War-era U2 at all. Great song, from what I can remember. I don't have it myself, but I heard it on U2 Radio many years ago (when that site still existed).

C ya!

I just downloaded it. It is rather lovely. In one notes on the song they say it possibly was recorded around the time of JT. It sounds sort of Unforgettable Fireish to me though.

I don't know the exact era of U2 that "Be There" comes from, it is DEFINITELY "War" era or before.

This was an EARLY U2 demo song which never saw release, so it might even go as far back as "Boy".

You can hear the youthfulness and innocence in Bono's voice and his inexperienced singing style which actually adds to the beauty of this song.

It is an EXQUISITELY SIMPLE LOVE SONG which wonderfully expresses Bono's only desire - to be with the one he loves.

Not to judge her or to put her on a pedestal, just to be with her to share the everyday struggles and joys of life together.

Bono doesn't want her to be anything else than who she is - he accepts her and loves her unconditionally, just as he wants to be loved and accepted.

One of my favorite hidden gems of a U2 song and a Bono lyric!

YOU'RE ENOUGH IN MY HEART....:bono:   ;)

It's available here, at Interference. Go to the lyrics section and look up the song. There's an Mp3 of it there.

What a great song. I don't think it really fits anywhere as an "album" song, but it really is beautiful. It's got an atmospheric quality to it, along the lines of what we hear more of on UF. And Bono's vocals are extremtly passionate.

(Edit because if it's at Interfernce, no need for me to email it. )
