That's what I thought you meant as well.
I thought Love and Peace kicked butt live. Loved Bono banging away on the drum at the end.
Did you get the douchebag version or the nosebleed version?
Streets, New Year's Day, and I Will Follow are all exempt. I think it has to do with the nature of all of those songs: they're all energetic and just plain badass.
My big issue with the warhorses is that they all get slowed down: I Will Follow, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride, Bullet the Blue Sky. If they were just made their normal tempo, I'd probably enjoy them more. They lose so much edge with the slower tempo.
The only time I Will Follow really bugged me was Popmart, where they slowed it down so much it was all I could do not to run onstage, grab Larry's sticks and shout, "No! You're doing it wrong! GO FASTER!"
Plus, they cut out half the song.
Seeing The Electic Co on the last tour was pretty awesome though...

#1 on my wish list is Out of Control, though.
Ha! I was thinking about that, too. I'm fine if that happens, but only if it can be done without 15 snits and that argument again.
I agree. I always think I'm sick of New Year's Day and I Will Follow until I hear the opening notes then I'm all and
How long will it be before therandom musicchat thread gets merged with this one?
As long as they don't make it a nostalgia trip. That happened way too much on Elevation, but not so much on Vertigo. Just play the damn song, dudes.
No stories about 4 young lads from the streets of Dublin, please.
This.
I've even been known to get happy when Pride starts, although it's still my go-to bathroom break song.
I honestly wish that entire thread would get closed down and not allowed to come back, as it detracts far too much from actual conversation going on in the normal threads. Most people don't want to venture into the random thread, myself included a lot of the time, and thus never see if there's a mention of an actual band they like. It's incredibly lazy, people go post things there when there's a thread about the band one or two pages back. It causes a massive lack of discussion between regulars and not-so-regulars, and makes casual posters feel even less included. It does nothing but make the entire rest of Bang and Clatter feel dead. Random "music" or "movie" threads are completely unnecessary if that entire section of the forum is dedicated specifically to music or movies.
