Pretty excited to get this new Jack White album in the mail tomorrow and give it some spins. Been avoiding the reviews and the dedicated thread here.

He just did the title track on Fallon and it fucking kicked ass. That ending rocked so hard. Great guitar tone, great interplay with the drummer.

"Star?"

She's incompetently sampled on every track, that's all.

(I did like the album slightly more than the last one, so their streak was broken)

What is click bait, anyway? Isn't the purpose of a headline supposed to make people want to read it?

It is, but up until Buzzfeed and Upworthy started dominating the landscape headlines didn't seem to be so pointedly misleading, nor did they exclude information.

Now it's all 'You Won't Believe What Happened Next'

I'm pretty sure I've never read an article on either of those sites.

i dislike headlines that tell me everything that's in the article, though. It irritates me that someone really got paid to re-write the same sentence 5 times and call it an "article."

It's depressing to notice mainstream and "respectable" outlets increasingly adopting this, and all the more depressing to realise they're doing it precisely because it works. You won't believe what other opinions I hold on the current media landscape. What I could say next will blow your mind!

Wait, is buzzfeed that site with all those "10 celebrities that failed high school algebra" "4 new ways to tie your shoes" garbage links that lets me know the actual article I was reading is really over?

I assume the same people who buy people magazine read those. I can't imagine caring less.

i made a smoothie to rival mofo's gross smoothie from the other day. it actually tastes ok, it just looks like a glass of liquified snot.

There's a new New Pornographers song on Spotify today called "Brill Bruisers". I can't find anything about this song anywhere yet, not sure if it's from the new album or something else.

Just wait until Pitchfork starts doing it...
