I left the window open and cleaned out my messages on fb. THAT'S how bored I am. I know, god forbid I pick up a book or something
what happen to your ATC's ? did you finish the other 2?

^no, Daz. I didn't. And I really need to finish them by the end of the weekend. But I'm just not feelin' it. I guess I should go ahead and get the stuff out and try something, otherwise they'll never get done. I've just got that "Sunday afternoon/evening, don't want to get anything done, wish I could have a margarita" feeling.
I used to religiously listen to those holiday weekend "ZOMG GREATEST SONGS EVER" countdowns when I was younger. Loved them.
My leeks are not cooperating. They're not getting soft! ( )
It says cook until they're soft and spaghetti-like, so they blend into the pasta, but after almost 30 minutes, they're still crunchy. D'oh. At least they smell good.
You ladies have been busy! This has been like catching up ala '05. :wipesawayproudtear:
I've never used leeks for anything, but I read through the entire Julie and Julia blog after watching the movie when it came out on dvd, and I want to. She raved about them.
I julienned them, per the recipe. That part was delightfully easy - they came apart with barely having to cut. The good news is, I liked the taste of them, so at least I've found another veggie I like.
The bad news is that the recipe was ridiculously disappointing. I don't cook enough to learn my lesson with pasta - even though the recipe calls for a pound of pasta, that's WAY too much.
So that was strike one. Then the leeks all clumped together and I couldn't distribute them evenly, there wasn't enough sauce, and it was on the bland side, despite being cooked in wine, and having added extra pepper and parmesan cheese.
BOO. That's the sucky part about trying new recipes - that was a lot of money down the drain. rain:
I did set aside a serving for tomorrow's dinner, and froze most of the rest, but knowing me, I'll never get around to eating it.
Oh well. At least I have good parm, some wine and some awesome bread!

well you still have some time tomorrow?
It's understandable......
...you have all manner of deadlines as a teacher AND a mom ...how many more deadines do you want in you life!?!
why not put the stuff out- put on more U2 or a fave movie and see if inspiration returns!
OR say .tonight i am Letting myself NOT do this, but i will make time for it tomorrow?!?
Pleba girls party!
This is why I almost never cook
Oh, and bathroom scales are the devil, but tonight, the devil told me what I wanted to hear :happy dance:
Sounds like a meal to me!

I decided to listen to Boy, October and War as I cleaned this morning.
Then earlier I continued with TUF and Joshua Tree. I might as well wrap up the 80s with the Rattle and Hum CD before Mad Men comes on later.
Will probably have to them keep going with the 3 90s CDs tomorrow. And, if I can't think of anything better to do, go through the whole catalogue.
Was he a horny fellow in leather by any chance?
(If my bathroom scale was THAT devil, I'd be on it ALL. THE. TIME.)
I think I've officially gone brain dead. I'm writing an article listing hotels in Vegas without casinos, and actually started it out "Although Las Vegas is known for the rattle and hum of its casinos...." and then realized what I'd just typed.
I'm so bored I want to throw something in, like "Each room at Hotel X comes equipped with an iron and ironing board, a coffee maker, a hairdryer and a hooker." just to see if my editor actually notices.
how have you been, VP?
