Some parts of the Hutt are fucking NASTY. Large swathes of it are from 1950s public housing projects. I make a point of avoiding most of it. But the part around Silverstream and the Taita Gorge, and then the upper reaches beyond Upper Hutt, like around Maymorn, are really nice. Perhaps because they're lowly settled and lack ferals.
