It feels like sacrilege or something but I'm really over Pride

Agreed. But it is my own damn fault. 18 Vertigo shows will do that to a person. But, the crowd loves it. First 2 shows this tour I was fine. By third I was getting over it. By fourth I had to talk to myself into looking happy and excited.

Oh and Axver time to call Crystal Ballroom dead? I mean for it not to show up in 8 shows in one city?

Pride's never been as good live as it is in studio (with the possible exception of a few early UF Tour performances). Crowds love it but it's a rare example of U2 failing to improve a song on stage.

No, I imagine it's still a chance to show up in rotations during the longer stands in Europe.

that's a real disappointment. especially after they added miss you to the end.

really would have been nice to play california too since they were in new new york

On Elevation and Vertigo, if U2 did four - or sometimes even just three - nights in a city, you knew the last night would have an altered order at the very least. It would be a loose, different show to usual.

But this tour and the last did not follow that trend at all, which is disappointing.

Axver can probably answer this best, but are first legs of tours particularly inventive, as far as setlists go? Maybe subsequent legs will be a bit more adventurous, as far as varied setlists go.

Yes. First you have the band getting the set settled, so you have variation as it evolves and they decide what does or doesn't work. Then, at least on Elevation and Vertigo, they got comfortable with material and were willing to be playful during extended stands. Probably the most unusual third/fourth night sets occurred on the first legs of those two tours.

Apart from ZooTv and popmart obviously, they where ultra static regardless

Huh, interesting.

Party Girl is nice. 48 unique songs during a tour is nice. Playing eighteen of the same songs every single night, and a nineteenth all but two shows is incredibly disappointing.
Bastards. Amazing how they're able to play so many songs and keep the same setlist.

Very very true, but they are still fucking awsome
