Next tour they better bring back Gone!!!!

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
It would be cool if the band would get to the point where they could look back on Zooropa and Pop and embrace them as cool projects.

I mean, a band that could play "An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart" and put it on their tour DVD in 05 and make such a point of honoring Boy could definitely rock out Dirty Day or Mofo on the next go-round.

what's so good about this song? ...

Gone is too slow and bland for my taste... I mean.. they have better songs... you can't even jump up and down to this song :grumpy:

Even Better Than The Real Thing is 100 times better

How can you NOT jump to the intro?

then.. after the intro WHAT?

with EBTTRT, the intro is the only thing you don't jump, but the rest of the song is a rocker... a REAL rocker

The only good thing about Ebert is the bridge.

There!! After two years I said it. Always bugged me. Still a 7 or and 8 out of 10 mind you.

the farkin vocals on Gone man  :combust:  :combust:

It's a good tune, but far from that exceptional or belonging to U2's best work. There are dozens of other "older" songs, I'd like U2 to dust off for the next tour than "Gone". Examples ...

1. Twilight
2. I Fall Down
3. October
4. Tomorrow
5. Two Hearts Beat As One
6. A Sort Of Homecoming
7. The Unforgettable Fire
8. Exit
9. Spanish Eyes
10. God Part II

... and these are only the choices frrom the 80ies!
