I will be sad when Willie, ex co-captain of the NY Yankees, is forced to watch his old team dismantle his current one. Willie even played for the Mets for a short period, yikes.
Yanks lose today, but win Saturday and Sunday, that's my prediction, based on nothing, really.
We can all agree on wanting the rain to go away, though. It's when Met and Yankee fans find common ground.
does anyone inside of new york care if anyone outside of new york actually cares about this series?
interleague has been great for baseball... this series set a shea stadium attendance record... 165,625 for a regular season 3-game series. can't go wrong with that.
yes, in the grand scheme of things, the games are useless... and it would certainly be beneficial to the mets record to play extra games against, oh i dunno, milwaukee as opposed to playing the yankees 6 times every year... but i'm sure mr. wilpon's pocket book isn't complaining... that's for sure.
