Here's another song I've written. I don't really know if the Philippines are actually what I've written them to depict; it's just supposed to be a magical place one can escape to. Hope you enjoy!
In The Philippines
Standing out in the open breeze,
A cool wind passes by your head.
It reminds you of a gentle place,
Somewhere that’s more magical instead.
Dragging behind you some weight you can’t see,
As you hide your world-torn face from the neighbors.
Their smile reminds you that they care,
But for you, image is the only thing that matters.
The child inside the man
Is reaching to be heard.
The child’s need’s and interests, however,
Are often misunderstood.
In The Philippines,
Ooo-ooo-ooo-oh.
In a land where you are free.
In the Philippines,
Ooo-ooo-ooo-oh.
Let them cater to your needs.
You grab your luggage,
And head to the airport.
It’s the first vacation you’ve taken,
And your vehement regerets almost lead you home…(oh sweet Lord).
The fire that’s burning inside
Won’t let you step back.
It’s a fire that longs for the Southeast,
An innocent state of being that you lack.
In The Philippines,
Ooo-ooo-ooo-oh.
Taken to a land where you are free.
In the Philippines,
Ooo-ooo-ooo-oh.
Let them cater to your needs.
Stepping off the plane,
Into a rugged state of territory.
A tired expression fades as you look around,
The beautiful landscape appears to be a living story!
Laughing at the volleys of the apes,
As they play with one another.
It reminds you of the love you left behind,
Your significant other.
Listen to the strange music,
Breathe in the southestern air.
Take a trip to a different land,
That is, if you dare.
In The Philippines,
Ooo-ooo-ooo-oh.
Amongst a land where you are free.
In the Philippines,
Ooo-ooo-ooo-oh.
Let them cater to your needs.
Jungles right in front of you,
Branch upon branch.
Staring at the monkeys in the air,
You realize that this is the inner child’s only chance.
The knocks pounding at your door,
Brings your conscience back to the significant other.
Doodling with your toy tigers and apes,
You look up to see a smiling mother.
The inner child is satisfied,
It was something that he needed.
The land was something you imagined,
And you know you had succeeded.
In The Philippines,
Ooo-ooo-ooo-oh.
Amongst a land where you are free.
In the Philippines,
Ooo-ooo-ooo-oh.
Let them cater to your needs.
In The Philippines,
Ooo-ooo-ooo-oh.
