I was standing in the doorway, minding my own
Man walks up, shivering from the cold
He says "Man ain't it cold out, why don't you go inside?"
I say "It's cold out here but it's colder in there.
"They all got their happiness but at least I got the rain"
As the man walked away, I lit another smoke
The sidewalks are my ashtray and tonight we are one in the same
My tuxedo is still pressed, smells like cigarette smoke and Jimmy Beam
Your prom dress waves like a beautiful light just like the smile on your face
Outside, I'm looking in holding a flower in my wand
And I'm waltzing in the moonlight
Just me and the streetlight
Tonight I may be lonely, but hell I got the rain

I love that...wow. My only complaint would be that I didn't like the mention of "prom dress"...because it just made it all seem so young, when it really is so much more mature than that.
