Copy and paste. I need some entertainment right about now.

You may be pleasantly surprised. Here's the first part.

1. The Moody Blues – “Dawn: Dawn Is A Feeling” – Days Of Future Passed (3:49)
Alright. Unobjectionable. Starts the tracklist nicely enough.

2. The Magic Numbers – “Mornings Eleven” – The Magic Numbers (5:32)
Singer's voice is truly irritating and lacking control.

3. Prince – “Play In The Sunshine” – Sign O The Times (5:05)
Sort of irritating but far preferable to that woeful song in LMP's list.

Segue into Grass works well.

4. XTC – “Grass” – Skylarking (3:06)
Not a bad song. Enjoyed listening to it.

5. The Flaming Lips – “Buggin” – The Soft Bulletin (3:16)
One of the less objectionable Flaming Lips songs I've heard and I kind of enjoyed it. Still not terribly good though.

6. The Velvet Underground – “Sweet Jane” – Loaded: Fully Loaded Edition (4:07)
Eh ... kinda bothersome on its own but it fits well.

7. Van Morrison – “Brown Eyed Girl” – Blowin’ Your Mind (3:03)
Huh, I didn't realise this was Van Morrison. I've never been that keen on it and don't know if it'd bother with it out of context, but it's working here.

8. Supergrass – “Alright” – Supergrass Is 10: Best Of 1994-2004 (3:03)
This tracklist is so fucking summery! This is just driving home the general atmosphere. I'd love some death metal to be right around the corner.

9. Sly And The Family Stone – “Hot Fun In The Summertime” – The Essential Sly And The Family Stone (2:37)
Meh ... I don't know if it really adds much and it's not on the same level as the preceding tracks.

10. Jimi Hendrix – “Wait Until Tomorrow” – Axis: Bold As Love (3:01)
Now here's an over-rated artist. Hendrix does nothing for me and this song proves it.

11. Neil Young – “Cinnamon Girl” – Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere (3:00)
Alright, I suppose.

12. Donovan – “Season Of The Witch” – Troubadour: The Definitive Collection, 1964-1976 (4:54)
Weaker than the previous track, some of the singing isn't so appealling but some of the guitar's not bad.

13. The Smiths – “Cemetry Gates” – The Queen Is Dead (2:39)
Alright track.

14. Beck – “Jack-Ass” – Odelay (4:01)
Another alright track, mediocre I suppose, kinda annoying shit at the end.

15. The Shins – “One By One All Day” – Oh, Inverted World (4:08)
Enjoyed this more than the last song.

16. Led Zeppelin – “Dancing Days” – Houses Of The Holy (3:42)
Goddamnit, Led Zep, why are you so mediocre and middle of the road?

17. Paul McCartney – “That Would Be Something” – McCartney (2:37)
The start of this song is quite dumb. And it does not get better. This is silly. You're making a fool of yourself, McCartney.

18. De La Soul – “Eye Know” – 3 Feet High And Rising (4:12)
Not my style, but didn't bug me too much.

19. Weezer – “Surf Wax America” – Weezer (1994) (3:06)
Lawlz, Weezer. This is mindless.

20. The Streets – “Fit But You Know It” – A Grand Don’t Come For Free (4:10)
What the hell is this crap? Is it trying to force a tune in there? Was this ripped straight out of the Lyrics For Morons book?

21. Stevie Wonder – “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing” – Innervisions (4:45)
Start is crap, though at least it flows out of the last track. Overall, a mediocre song.

22. The Pixies – “Here Comes Your Man” – Wave Of Mutilation: Best Of Pixies (3:21)
I like the guitar at the start. Not bad overall.

23. The Zombies – “Time Of The Season” – Odessey And Oracle (3:31)
Meh. Neither here nor there. Not terribly appealling.

But it looks like we're about to get into the good part.

24. R.E.M. – “Country Feedback” – Out Of Time (4:05)
New REM song to me. Hmm. Alright, will have to return to it, but doesn't immediately strike me as anything able to compete with Drive, Feeling Gravity's Pull, So. Central Rain, Driver 8, etc.

25. U2 – “Staring At The Sun” – Pop (4:36)
Not a favourite U2 track, but still a good one.

Wonder how it'll work seguing into Summer '68?

Kinda works. If you're not listening closely, it seems like a smoother transition than if you focus.

26. Pink Floyd – “Summer ‘68” – Atom Heart Mother (5:29)
FUCK YES.

27. Mason Williams – “Classical Gas” – The Mason Williams Phonograph Record (3:03)
This is good and follows Summer '68 well.

28. Love – “Alone Again Or” – Forever Changes (3:14)
I've heard Forever Changes is meant to be some lost classic. Can't say it's that great. It works in the tracklist but I'm not sure it's something I'll return to.

29. Jefferson Airplane – “White Rabbit” – Hits (2:31)
Not a bad song. No strong thoughts.

30. Neil Diamond – “Sweet Caroline” – Gold (3:18)
Heh.

31. Spoon – “You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb” – GaGaGaGaGa (3:08)
Woo, talentless hacks making bullshit for wannabe elitists. What rubbish.

32. The Beach Boys – “All Summer Long” – The Greatest Hits Vol. 2: 20 More Good Vibrations (2:05)
Boringly stereotypical.

33. Blur - “Badhead” - Parklife (3:25)
Alright track. Vocals remind me of Morrissey in some points.

34. Radiohead - “All I Need” - In Rainbows (3:47)
There are worse Radiohead songs and not that many better.

35. No Doubt - “Simple Kind Of Life” - Return Of Saturn (4:16)
Not my kind of thing. Don't like No Doubt.

36. Bob Dylan - “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” - Blood On The Tracks (2:52)
<insert usual Bob Dylan critique here>

Though I find myself not quite as thoroughly irritated by him as I once did.

37. The Kinks – “Big Sky” – Village Green Preservation Society (2:52)
I've heard plenty about both the band and this album in particular. Let's he how it stands up. Catchy music.

38. The Beatles – “Rain” – Past Masters, Vol. II (3:01)
U2's live cover on Popmart is better. Goodnight, fuck off!

39. The Rolling Stones - "Love In Vain" - Let It Bleed (4:19)
Wow, this is bad and it drags. So irritating that the first minute felt like 4. I gave it a 60 second help to reach the end quicker. I suppose this song makes sense in light of the concept and works in context, but surely something more listenable could express the same thing.

40. The Who – “Love Ain’t For Keeping” – Who’s Next (2:10)
Alright. The Who have much better.

41. Oasis – “Who Feels Love?” – Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants (5:43)
Not too bad a song as far as Oasis goes.

42. Pulp – “The Trees” – We Love Life (4:47)
I enjoyed this a good deal more than the Pulp song on Irishteen/Lemonchick's tracklist.

43. Al Stewart – “End Of The Day” – Time Passages (3:09)
It's an OK song. No real comments. It was just there.

44. The Mamas & The Papas – “California Dreamin” – Gold (2:39)
Huh, this song, I recognise this. It works as a good way to end the tracklist.

This whole thing flowed really well. A bit too summery sometimes for my liking, and I wasn't into a good number of the songs, but it was better than I expected and it's a very comprehensive, cohesive experience. C+.

It's 2:45am. I was up later last night, but yeah, this is pretty late by my standards. I'll be out in about 10-20 minutes.

who made it "lamerica"?

Oh, the Disneyland one? That's how I originally added it to the list when we moved on to Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, just to emphasise the ultra-lameness of going there.

oh it says 3:45...

That's because whoever coded Interference is a moron from the Northern Hemisphere who can't grasp the concept of different seasons in the Southern Hemisphere, usual rant bla bla bla.

I haven't been bothered to change my timezone to +0900 so that it appears as +1000.

This other disc of Phanan's music has started off much stronger than his first.

Well, I did the math, and it appears the only way I'll have any chance of making the quarterfinals is if I win all of my remaining matches, and the I&L match by over 3. :|

That's too bad. I couldn't vote as I hadn't finished Phanan's list.

I'll be voting for you against both LMP and I&L.
