I will. Achtung is shockingly over-rated.
I wish U2 had never made it.
You must be an acrobat, to talk like this, and act like that!

miss becky said:Given that this has already strayed far off-topic (the original poster didn't mention Zoo TV, but was only speaking about Achtung Baby the album), I have a question for you, Axver. Why on earth do you feel compelled to post in every Achtung Baby/Zoo TV thread? This whole forum knows your thoughts on the matter. Why must you turn every positive thread into a rehash of the same, tired old argument?
Also, you should really check out that Interference video. The band talks quite candidly about the state of mind they had after Lovetown, and the birth pains that Achtung Baby went through. It's a very interesting watch and will give you some insight into what they were thinking circa 1990-1991.

From what Larry and Edge say, does it seem to you like they were having such a great time during Lovetown, Axver?
LJT said:Is that not a quote Bono used by Oscar Wilde
Bono's shades said:
Yeah, now that I think about it, it was. I think Bono said, "It's like Oscar Wilde said..." and I just forgot that it was Oscar Wilde that originally said it. I probably should have looked it up, but I couldn't remember for the life of me where I read it. It was probably in "U2 At the End of the World."

I could ask a similar question of you. Everyone knows you worship the Zoochtung era, and yet you keep on posting about it. Why? Your answer to that question will be markedly similar to my answer to yours.

Well, with the commencement of the 1992 tour, U2 had two choices:
1. Continue all the good work of Lovetown. Varied setlists mixing stellar performances of new material with masterful renditions of old.
2. Destroy all that good work.
I still cannot fathom why they chose #2. Heck, they still could've had all their masks and - maybe to a lesser extent - their technology with #1.
KhanadaRhodes said:okay, i really didn't want to say this, but i guess i have to: some people need to stop trolling. it used to only be a problem when we'd have pop threads but now it appears that ALL of the 90s work can't be talked about for fear of someone coming in and thinking we just all must hear their opinion on how much it sucks.
you don't like achtung baby? fantastic. you think it's overrated? great. you think the album should've never been made? awesome. keep the opinion to yourself if you come across these sorts of threads, as what you're doing is trolling, and it's getting old. if you don't want people to shit all over your lovetown threads, don't shit all over people's achtung baby threads. live and let live. now everyone, stay out of any U2 album appreciation thread unless you have something POSITIVE to say about it! why the mods must repeat it every time is beyond me. but i'm getting sick of it.
